I have a 2017 340i with MFG date 11/2016 upgraded from iDrive 5 to iDrive 6 software a couple years ago with a base map and forever FSC code installed.

Performed the coding as instructed with Protool instead of Bimmercode:
HeadUnit
HU_NBT_EVO
-3005 DISPLAY_PIP_CONFIG
CID_TOUCH > aktiv
-300B TOUCH_COMMAND
CID_HMI_TOUCH > aktiv

Still isn't working. Is there something additional that needs to be coded or is my headunit not compatible?

i thought touchscreen didn’t come out until 2018? if your car was mfg 2016, it probably does not have touch and coding is pointless as the screen doesn’t know what touch is.

These are the settings for the touch screen:
CID_DISPLAY_RES => 1280_480
CID_DISPLAY_SIZE => 8_8
Display_VARIANTE => breites_display
DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION => 8.8_1280x480
CID_HMI_TOUCH => aktiv
CID_TOUCH => aktiv

The you need the touch svreen itself

Kern's 440i is a 2018, and one thing Kern should've really mentioned in that video is that only 2018 model cars have the touch screen CID, I wouldn't be surprised if some late model 2017 cars have it as well, but as you said Runner340 you have a 2016 manufactured date car, so there's no way your CID is touch screen.

if the OEM screen wasn't programmed from factory to idrive 6, theres a 99.9% chance the screen isnt touch screen. my 2017 340i had a non touch screen idrive 5 NBT EVO screen.

Thank you all for the the input. I had a feeling it was a long shot but figured I had nothing to lose trying. EOD I find the idrive controller more than adequate and feel no need to upgrade the screen at this time.

just for the add, most EVO ID4 units will not support APIX2 (actual EVO ID5/6 screen), even after flashing it to ID5/6, it lacks hardware for that, so you can forget about touch screen there.

Old threat but hopefully someone will see it. I flashed my NBT EVO ID4 to ID6 (N55 2016/05 MY) my CID is not touch version, want to buy a touch screen but before that how can I be sure if my HU support APIX2 or not? When I installed wifi antenna I took a few pics back of HU, can you check and understand from that pics if it's compatible or not?

does not support apix2. you need a newer hu as touchscreen did not come out until 2018, so yours can’t handle it since it’s from 2016.
