Hi! I have 2013 F20 120d. I tried to retrofit rainsensor and automatic DRL, but can't get those working.

Used guide from this thread, coded all with esys, except FLC_AKTIV don't have option aktiv only nicht_aktiv. Also tried to VO code option 521, but it didn't work neither.

I purchased rainsensor with part nr. 61359475146 which should be suitable according to realoem. Also did mod to lightswitch knob. Problem is that when when I try to activate auto wipers from button, absolutely nothing happens. I assume that auto DRL doesn't work neither. Couldn't test yet since it's dark in where I live.

Any ideas?

You need to update your PSDZ files, and you'll find FLC_AKTIV has 3 options now, instead of two.

1. gesperrt
2. freigeschaltet_in_Stellung_A
3. freigeschalted_in_Stellung_A_und_0

Based on the descriptions, option 1. is for no FLC (Not Auto Headlights), option 2. is for Auto Headlights in position A, option 3. is for Auto Headlights in position A & 0 (For F48, 49, 52, 54, 60, M13), and not F57.

Hi,

Maybe a stupid question but my f31 doesnt have that little dot in the black of my windschield.
I would really like to install the rlsbs sensor but are the cables already there on my f31 and is my windschield not wrong?

Do you have automatic AC or manual? I do not think that you can put RLSBS on manual AC.

I'm not sure wich airco i have.
I looked it up with my vin but i don't find any info about the ac.
On my ac unit it says AUTO.

This is manual Air Cond. You cannot install RLSBS on your car.

When I try to code it using Esys, I can't change FEM_BODY > 3060 > FLC_AKTIV from "nicht activ" - there is simply no "activ" option available from drop-down menu.

FLC_AKTIV is not being mapped correctly in E-Sys Launcher.

You have to set the "Werte" value directly:
00 - gesperrt (=default, not active)
01 - freigeschaltet_in_Stellung_A (=active on position "A")
02 - freigeschaltet_in_Stellung_A_und_0 (=active on position "A" and "0")

So click on "Werte" and change the value to 01 or 02 - this also works without updating your PSDZ files.

After coding this new value will show up as "UNKNOWN" in drop down section, but this option is still active.

Hi and sorry for the double-post, but I still got some problems with this retrofit:

I had error code D90D16, but found a solution for this:
Instead of modifying my old light switch, I bought a used one with the "A" position.
I noticed that this new light switch also needs to be coded, so I changed BEL_LIN_VAR to a value including all the new features: I think FLC_NSW_NSL, whatever.

Then I had error code 80436E.
I solved this in coding AIC_KOMPRESSOR_MAG_KUPPLUNG back to "nicht_aktiv".
What is this setting for?

Now I have only INFO error codes left, nothing too serious:
07802B, 078022, 078043

But the light sensor still does not work.
If I set the position to "A" my headlights turn on, no matter how bright it is outside.
The rain sensor works perfectly fine.
No issues on the AC as well.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks OP for sharing this mod, appreciate it.

I did all the mods but auto light is not working, low beam are on even in sunlight on A position.

Funny thing is that rain sensor works perfectly and i dont have any fault codes in any module.
Changed light switch with A function also and everything is coded, double checked it.

Also tried with 3 different RLS sensors and always the same.

When i go to diagnostic actuation test channel by channel, values of the light sensor working perfectly, going from 0 when i cover the sensor to 25000 in direct sunlight, and everything between but it seems like the FEM doesnt recognized that for some reason.

Does anybody know what is going on?

I bought my first BMW F30 (pre-LCI) two months ago, I'm super happy with it. I only have 1 thing, I don't have the RLS (Rain Light Sensor). And I don’t even have Rain sensor. I have some questions about it. Of course I have to buy a new windscreen, the sensor itself, but does anyone have any idea about the wiring?
And to be honest, the rain sensor doesn't matter much to me, is it more on the light sensor.

When I had my 2007 X3, I am pretty sure that if I left the wiper switch in the ON position (rain sensing) it remained in that position even after a car restart. But on my F30 2012 I have to enable it ever time I start the car. I do not see any code options for this, only sensitivity options.

Hi, my BMW have no light and rain sensors but I believe the AC is automatic. It will be a fantastic update, but I'm not sure if can be done in my BMW. How I can confirm it? Where I find the right sensor?

PS. According with the bove photo, my AC is automatic!

I did it yesterday and it works like charm for my PRELCI F20 with xenon and automatic climate control. I changed sensor with this one: 9861558. Also I bough new light switch(haven’t check part number).
For coding, I check FDL changes for VO 521, and here you go:
