Bezel, hands, and markers. The rest is steel. (Is it sad that I knew that off the top of my head?)

Just the Bezel and as Alan said above the hands and markers on the dial are too (which is quite common thing on swiss watches I think)

It's the bi-metal versions that you see (yellow or rose gold/steel) they have the gold centre links.

Its really not, only been washed twice in 7 months but the man is coming in next 10 days to make it shinier...

You had an M5 when I had a 150k mile Volvo.... its just a timing thing! I'll probably have something less flash in next couple of years as retirement beckons.....

Been looking at the Superocean 42 for my next purchase. I am considering the white/blue version.

How are you finding watch after a few months? What is the strap you have, is it the Breitling Calfskin? Thanks

It’s a lovely watch and has become my everyday watch now, although as I’m currently wfh I don’t wear it that much.

I bought it with both the steel strap and calf skin strap as I like a change once in a while but it’s currently on the leather.

Very nicely weighted watch and looks pretty slick I think….!

Cool thanks. My AD is offering a pretty good deal on the bracelet and the rubber strap with deployant clasp. Can't decide if I want the rubber strap as it's a bit busy or get the calfskin

Yeah I’m personally not a fan of the rubber straps and think for the type of watch steel or leather looks tons better. ETTO

Agreed. The rubber strap is too loud for me I think. Not sure why they put their name all over it, looks a bit silly.

Hey again guys, I'm about to finalise my watch sale into one of a couple of jewelers. They have offered £4.5 and £4.55k, so a little less than I'd like but tbh just want it gone now.
So in the unlikely event you are interested at this price level please drop me a line.

To remind, this is the watch I'm referring to;
https://www.chrono24.co.uk/breitling...id19007816.htm

Breitling Navitimer Ref. 806, 1959 Re-edition

Cheers!

I appreciate the significance of that watch but it’s way too fussy for me and with my eyes, I’d have to guess the time.

Good luck with the sale tho!

Why would you want to wear a watch to tell the time?? Lolz :P It's being collected this afternoon. Gone from my life. Will see if I can find a more legible one next time

You make a fair point these days. My only disappointment with my Seamaster is the date is practically impossible for me to read these days…. So I look at my phone, laptop, iPad etc… from the wrist with any glare it disappears!

Questions

Do any of you with chronometers actually use the feature?
Does anyone with a diver watch actually go diving?

I'm guessing some of you do, but not all of you, by a long way.

I barely use my watches to tell the time. Let alone use the world timer, chronograph or diving features of my collection :

I use the stopwatch to time my son at athletics - it’s more satisfying than using the phone!

I’ve swam with it but defo not diving, ever!

Rarely use the chronometer unless I'm in a boring meeting. Feel comfortable around water with the diving watch but other then that piece of jewelry and time telling!

Divers watch gets some serious use on holiday in pools. Slightly over spec'd at 300m but some of the speeds I hit swimming and those dives. Needs a margin of safety

I ditched chrono's as they're less clear to read and I do prefer a simple hand sweep.

I'm waiting news on Grand Seiko taking the power meter to the back of the snowflake. May jump in anyway but it would look perfect with that change and the 2021 new models are heading that way, fingers crossed.

I've got a Omega Planet Ocean at 600m water resistance. A Christopher Ward Trident C60 at 1000m and a Bremont Alt1 at 100m. I sometimes go swimming in a pool on holiday.

Nice bling though.

I do a lot of diving, but with a dive computer rather than with my Seamaster.
I haven’t been to the moon with my Speedy moon watch before you ask either.

Planning on retiring next year and contemplating a Rolex from an AD as my "retirement prezzie" from me to me.

Not interested in a used one as not prepared to pay 40% over list for the privilege.

Never bought a new Rolex before so not a "valued" customer and obviously i cant just pop in and get one due to their "restricted" supply shenanigans so am keen to know about their waiting list and more importantly the length of said list for a newbie customer.

For the record it is potentially going to be a Sea-Dweller , Deep Blue.

Get down to your dealer and if your lucky they will put you on a waiting list. To buy a rolex u usually have to have purchased watches from the dealer previously so unless you have a relationship with them, it’s highly unlikely you will even get a watch from them. Daft I know but it’s how it is with Rolex’s.

I’ve purchased a few watches from my local dealer but they aren’t a Rolex AD so I’m out of luck and probably won’t get a rolex anytime soon although I have put my name down on the waiting list at a couple of AD’s but not holding out any hope.
