Robbing the F8x M3 M4 for suspension parts
HP started the R&D process back in 2008 with the E9x chassis and is at it once again with the F series.
Our R&D is on a F32 435i, but any models that shares this platform can benefit from this upgrade. Part #10 in the illustration below is the wishbone we are upgrading here. This particular arm in OEM(F3x none M) form can deflect because of the rubber bushings and rob you of valuable camber during cornering. The F8x M replacement is a much more robust arm with a bearing, which has less deflection and camber loss. The F8x arm is also slight longer for a tiny bit of much needed negative camber gain. Camber gain is -0.5 on this particular car, but can vary bit due to manufacturer tolerances and other suspension mods. More details here: http://www.hpashop.com/F8x-M-upgrade...ne-upgrade.htm Last edited by HP Autosport; 03-25-2015 at 04:39 PM.. |

Nice! finally some OEM direct bolt on suspension upgrades. Since it slightly changes camber I would assume that an alignment would be a good idea afterwards.
Will be on the lookout for some reviews before I pull the trigger! I had the m3 control arms on my old e90, so hopefully this upgrade will yield a similar benefit. Appreciate the research!

Installing mis-match lower suspension parts (longer f8x m3/4 LCA and stock TS) must effect castor and steering. |

I'm sorry I never heard these LCA and TS terms ever before, & I thought I knew a thing or 2 about suspension haha!

F8x tension arms will be next as we have limited time on this particular R&D. No, there is no issues with xenon or not as you can see we have the rod on the M wishbone. Quote:

Harold,
Subscribed for both LCA and TS upgrade. Having seen benefit on my E91, now keen to do this upgrade on my f2x. More camber would be very helpful even it just reduced the wear on the softer compound on Michelin PSS outer shoulder. |

Have you guys installed this on a vehicle that also had the camber pivot bearing replaced that also added -0.5 degrees of camber. Curious as to how that kind of set up with a camber of ~ -1.6 to -1.8 degrees of these cars.

Martin,
The F2x Mx35i has the -0.5 camber pivot bearing fitted as standard hence I think why Harold @ HPA is putting a caveat on his webpage saying not suitable for M235i as he's not tried this upgrade on one yet. It reads like once Harold gets an opportunity to mount upgraded LCA (and hopefully the matching TS too) on an M235i he will update suitability for cars with -0.5 dialled in already. BP

Also, if they will in fact work with the F30 with swivel bearings (the OE hubs/carriers that add 0.5° of negative camber)? Thanks again, Harold.
