No problem Grant, glad to offer help as a fellow "leather dash delayed my car" sufferer!

Please contact me if there is any other info which might be useful to you.

Back at 1200 with a build week of wk30 according to Genius.

Not had anything back from my dealership as of yet.

Perhaps there's a lesson to be learned; leave Genius alone. It goes from one extreme to the other:

At least it's moving again.

For info, mine went to 5000, 5050 (VIN Allocated) and 5055 (Confirmed by Prod Control) 10 days after it went to 1200. Build started (5100) 6 days after that

I'd give the Genius a break for a week

Ha! Today was only the second time on Genius this week actually; the first being Monday to get my delay news.

I spoke with the Sales Manager today and he believes he's never seen an order back-and-forth so much in his career. Lucky me!

Just need to push it past VIN allocated now to kick start the wheels in motion. Apparently the build week is the week after next, therefore for the timing that you've provided Rukka, I should be moving to 5000 very soon...

Naturally I will post up here once I know more.

Thanks again for your support guys

Individual leather dashes are causing a lot of issues at the moment. The demand being the problem. 2 week factory closures coming up don't help either!!

Well today is 5 months to the day since ordering. And....I've been moved back to Status 1100 again. This has been my build status 'journey' so far:

0077 -> 1100 -> 0500 -> 1100 -> 1200 -> 1100 -> 1200 -> 1100

Now saying week 35 build, week 38 delivery (3rd week in Sept).

I've not heard anything from my dealer this week, although I do believe he's been away for part of it, however will hold and see how long it takes to hear from him next week. Am preparing myself to unleash a mahoosive rant - this is simply not good enough.

Despite having owned 5 previous BMWs, this is the first one I've purchased from new. And it's been a pretty poor experience so far.

Bloody hell mate - that's horrendous!

Agreed it's not good enough - maybe they should be looking to offer you some "good will" - a lot of good will!!! (MPPK )

In terms of managing your expectations, maybe an email to BMW UK expressing your dissatisfaction so far might prompt them to offer something? Worth a punt as in reality, it's not your dealers fault (although I'm sure he will take the brunt of your frustrations)

Chin up - only 49 sleeps.........................

Damn that sucks Grant. Awful! Individual isn't exactly new is it to BMW or even the F30. Ze germanz should be better at scheduling than this.

The race is on, I actually think my 'rocking horse do do' M2 will be here first. I'm coming back in the other way from W50,49 and now 40.

Obviously your going to speak to the dealer but I'm not sure there is much they could do to speed it up. Perhaps a gesture of goodwill will prevail.

I admire your patience and of course you will preface any rant at the dealer with "I know this isnt your fault and you are only the messenger but....!

Personally I would be talking to Mercedes about how quickly a C43 estate could be obtained and what spec and price they could do to encourage you to cancel..... and I would be letting BMW know that was the question I was asking...

From memory you weren't after a quick delivery when you placed your order (just as well as it turns out!) but this is now just plain ludicrous. There must be a number of people on this forum who ordered 340i's after you and took delivery of their cars several weeks ago and in the circumstances I think you've been more than patient; therefore, whilst it may not be their fault, I think the dealer should be looking to do something to soften the blow (e.g. some dealer fit extras at no cost to you).

I've bought a couple of BMW's brand new and my current F31 was ordered in mid-August 2014 and delivered before the end of the following month (so less than 6 weeks from order to me picking it up from the dealer). I appreciate options from the Individual range can delay things a little but you should only be talking 2 or 3 weeks on top of a normal order to delivery cycle; to have to wait over 6 months for a F31 340i is just not acceptable IMO and your rant will be entirely justified!

I genuinely wince before opening this thread! it simply isn't good enough. I know there's issues with individual leather ATM but this is seriously ridiculous.

Grant, I feel your pain. However this isn't the sales guys fault. All cars with individual leather dashes are suffering from delays. It is BMW UK that you should be complaining to And rightly so, pressure needs to applied from the top in this case. I hope your dealer does stay in contact, they'll be as keen to get the car registered as you are ego get behind the wheel.

All this is true, but the dealer is the manufacturers point of contact with the customer. They ought to be pushing BMW hard for a resolution to this.

Grant ordered his car 2 weeks before me and yet my car arrived at the dealers on 14th July. He should have a definite production date by this point in time.

We won't mention the fact my car is still sitting in the dealers compound nine days after it was delivered. Nobody bothered to inform me of it's arrival and have so far failed to get back to me after I chased it myself last Saturday

Thanks All

I believe my dealer returned to work late last week, so I'm disappointed not to have heard from him. But that may not be the case. Either way I shall be contacting him Mon/Tue to express my dissatisfaction.

The good news is that they will put me in a car from 1st Sept (although the timing there is terrible - but that's another story). As I have a young one, I will be needing something of at least 3 series size, therefore expect them to offer me something decent. I'd quite like to try a 6 cylinder diesel for the 3/4 weeks that I'll have the car (fingers crossed).

Yes I will push for goodwill. A hefty discount off either MPE or MPPK would be ideal.

And excellent idea about contacting BMW UK. I fully appreciate it's out of my dealers control, however they are there to fight my cause, and I really don't believe they've done so. Therefore they are going to hear about my frustrations and, depending on how the conversation goes, I will then inform the dealer that I will complain to BMW UK (cc'ing the dealer).

Yes there's been loads! It's really quite down heartening to see all these threads of people collecting their cars that they only ordered 8/10/12 weeks before. Obviously I'm pleased for the individuals, and happy to read about their collection experiences, but it does make me feel like a 'second-rate' citizen in BMW's eyes.

Yes I emailed the dealer regarding this...and have heard nothing back in response. Will bring this up again next week as your order is excellent ammunition for my argument. That being said, super poor show by your Dealer for them not to have informed you of it's arrival! (). Still, nice to know it's at least built and in the country...ha!

Anyway, when I went to Status 1200 for the 2nd time (!), I felt the need to celebrate and make a purchase. So to go with my black winter 405M wheels and black front grilles, I've ordered some carbon mirror caps. They were recommended by Teaston on a thread, and it was through this company that I ordered. They are based in Germany and were very reasonable price-wise. Also it must be said that communication was very good and they arrived just 5 days after ordering.

Now all I need is a feckin' car to put them on!!!!!

So today I'm back at Status 1200...for the third time. 3rd time lucky?

Still down as week 38 for delivery (8 weeks from now).

Spoke with my dealer yesterday to express my dissatisfaction. He is going to put it to BMW UK and see what their response is. I will give it a week if I haven't heard back.

The next lottery will be what car the dealership gives me to run around in during the time between my current car going back and my new 340i arriving...

I heard that they took all the parts allocated to your car to build BnB's.
