I went from D7 to E6 and while I felt on E it revved cleanly, you had to rev it out to get the most from it. Switching back to C9 I felt it had more low down torque, so a bit more in gear surge.

I have the 30d engine, whereas Lee has his box on a 35d, so will be interested to see how you find map E on yours.

well that was an interesting drive.

sooo comparing it to E7 its hard to say what the difference was as in all honesty i dont really drive my car in anger and on E7 i dont think i whacked my foot to the floor. tonight how ever. Sport mode and Sport Gear box doing some pulls from 30 ish. all i can say is WOW!!!! no wall at 3000 rpm like mentioned on the FAQ part of this thread. just pulled through nicely the kick in 3rd and 4th was amazing. shocked me in all honesty. ill run it on E9 for a few days make sure there is no black smoke. if all is ok ill leave it on E9

didnt realise you went from E6 to C9

i wonder if C9 cross over E6 as effectively its turning the volume up?!?

E5 = C7

Well switched from C8 to E8 and in Sport it scared me a bit, it wobbled in 3rd gear on the straight!

It's 5C so not great for run flat summer tyres

In comfort mode power is always just a very small press away and its more than enough all of the time.

However when I put it in Sport and accelerate its instant almost too much even with the slightest of throttle it just surges forward right to the gear change

Sounds odd but not sure if it's too intense in Sport it's almost like lunatic mode, cruising along and then flooring it the kick down is instant and it's off again like a scalded cat.

Be interested to know how much boost its running in E8 and by how much the fuel pressure has changed but Christ it's a hell of a different car.

I can't imagine what a 335D must be like in E9

Not sure what to do now so will live with it for a while and see how it is

That would make sense if you consider E to be a boosted version of C. Likely then that C9 equates to similar absolute performance of E6/7 but with the power coming in lower down the rev range.

I wonder if I was finding the fuelling ceiling an issue with map E? I didn't feel like it hit a wall, but it just didn't have the same shove and seemed a bit asthmatic for me. Probably a bit more headroom in the 35d with the updated hardware.

Just be aware guys when I put mine at the higher settings that wall you hit is unpleasant.... :bulge
mine didn't happen at 3000 rpm tho more like 4000rpm and only when foot was flat...
All this talk makes me what to go play again.

Yea to be honest I'd like to know how much more E9 is over E7. I felt safe an E7 lol worried I'm pushing to hard at E9 but logically I'm guessing it's not much more.

What setting you on?

What setting do you now use? And based on your experience, I take it there's no mistaking when you reach the limit point?

I am concerned that on settings E9 the fuel pressure is too high and could cause issues, the reason being is that the following statement is on the Bluespark FAQs

Our boxes are designed to work within factory tolerances and design specifications of your engine, our default maps do not excessively raise maximum fuel pressure, preventing wear on the vehicle’s fuel system.

Does this mean if you move off C6 then you are really increasing fuel rail pressures and asking for premature wear?

I read in to that that their settings A-E, 1-9 are the defaults?

Had a good run today in E8 and all ran perfectly, used auto and manual up to the redline and no issues

What are people seeing when they say it hits a wall?

Mainly the 2.0 tdi. Feels like it goes limp mode with no errors apparently. Like it should be pulling then loss of power.
