Halloween Candy

I always give out full size candy bars and another candy that you don't normally see in stores (last year I did Bubblicious Waterlemon and Blue Razz Blow pop)
Full Size: Costco
- Kit-Kat
- Hershey (milk chocolates and almonds)
- Reese's

I can't decide what to give this year for?

I really want to give out Cotton Candy Bubblicious - but they are discontinued.
Alternative is Bubble Yum Cotton Candy
I also did see Juicy Fruit makes a Bubble Gum - I don't think I ever tried.

Or
Mary jane (Candy not...)
Sugar Daddy (Candy not...)
Mamba
Hubba Bubba Bubble Tape Gum Rolls

What are some of your favorite candy and what are you giving out this year?

Do the Hubba Bubba tape rolls or Reese's. Lots of kids have braces now so things like Reese's I think would be best. Those chewy candies can cause issues.

I don't give out candy since we live in no where land.

It's weird I think the chocolate in regular candy has been reconstituted or reworked to be really waxy or the sweeter / sugar has gotten too sweet. Nonetheless KitKat. MilkyWay and sour ball are my give away. Atomic Fireballs if I can find them.

Sh*t now I got to worry about braces

Full size Reese's, Kit-kat and Hershey's I am for sure giving out, but you know them kids with peanut allergy some wont even eat it because it comes off the same line.

Also the best part about Halloween is trading for your favors. if they don't like it im sure they will trade it or Mom/Dad will eat it.

I've been giving out candy for 13 years where I live, and I'm about done with it. So, I'm gonna give out Black Licorice this year. Hopefully the kids hate it and won't come next year.

I was just being a grumpy old man. My kids still love to go out on Halloween and I sit out with a basket full of sour candy. I'm constantly told I give out the best candy, and I'm a dentist lol.

I moved to a rural property 19 years ago and have not had a single trick or treater since. Every year I make sure I have a few suitable treats just in case but end up eating them myself.

Much of it, I think, is the switch to HFCS. It does run sweeter than regular cane/beet sugar and its liquid at room temp, so things made with it can be a bit more waxy.

I've been known to hand out ice cubes to the kids who seemed a bit too old.

This. The folks across the street have kids, but I've never seen them going out or giving out candy. Our small neighborhood (10 houses) has two vacant houses and only one with kids, so no one comes here looking for candy.

Across the road from us is a McMansion neighborhood where they go all out with lights and so on. That place is a big destination. I was stunned last year when I saw that the thing to do these days is to load your kids up in the SUV or mini-van and cart them around to big neighborhoods. Wifey and I went for a walk through that 'hood during T&T time and there was a literal traffic jam of SUVs and mini-vans.

Cali has been doing this for decades. We live in da hood, so lock the gate and drive over to in-laws who live in a big fancy housing tract. The whole fam damily ends up there, then after mowing pizza a large group all head out together and fetch me some chocolate!!!!

Hard candy is good because I get the business from the broken teeth on the backend. You know what they say. You gotta spend money to make money.

Oof, they are too expensive to ship to Germany, I put them onto my shopping list for the next visit.
These are a very good substitute which had served me well the last years

I'm going to start giving kids copies of the Federalist Papers so they don't grow up to be communists.

Probably nothing this year. The last few years we've gotten 20 or less kids.

My dad's old place in Sand Springs, even the last year I was there in 2016 with my roommate, most houses on the street get decorated up and it's a mob scene. We had to give out cheap candy because of the numbers of kids we'd get. Using one of those little thumb counters, ya know?

MULTIPLE years we stopped counting at 500 individual kids.

Let me guess, you're a dentist.
