Some cars I seen sat nicely but others had a bit too much front arch gap still. I decided to up my budget a bit and go for a set of height adjustable coilovers so that I could guarantee I would get the height I wanted. The B14 kit is height adjustable only, from the limited information I could find (fitted to F3x's) I understand that these are slightly softer than the B16 adjustable kit on their softest setting which should work out well for what I want to use the car for. It is going to be a bit of an experiment but we'll see how they are when fitted. I can't see them riding worse than the standard springs and dampers, maybe a bit firmer but I'm hoping the switch to non run flats will offset this to an extent. When researching these things you find a lot of people advising to pay the extra for adjustable rebound but that would add a further £5-600 to the cost, given that my original plan was for springs alone it was just too much, so I took the plunge and decided to give these a try.

The plan is to get the tyres fitted first next week and run around on those for a short while, then replace the suspension to give me a feel for the individual changes. Pictures to follow once I get home and get my hands on them
You are totally wrong about the B14. They are about the same as the B16 set at near full hard. I am taking my set of B14 off my car and replacing with the KW V2 because it rides a little harsh for daily driving.
Really? Full hard?? That would make them too stiff for road use and I haven't heard anyone say that when fitted to other cars. I'll give them a go and see how I find them, nothing ventured nothing gained

Keep us updated with how the Bilsteins feel! Was looking into them too or BC coilovers since my budget is $1k or less

B14 kit arrived a week or so ago, finally got round to opening the box for a look. These things really do feel good quality, cant wait to get them on the car. Tyres will be going on this week some time, and I've booked the car in for suspension and four wheel alignment next month. Just need to get some spacers now, either 10/12mm or 12/15 still havent decided.

Finally got round to fitting the tyres yesterday. These look a much better fit on the 405m than the P Zero's in my opinion dispite being the same sizes. The fronts look best to me with a nice square sidewall, the rears have a minimal stretch in comparison and look slightly smaller because of it. It looks like a 265/30 would be the ideal size but thats me being fussy.

I haven't pushed them yet as I'm still scrubbing them in but they obviously feel better on the car than the run flats.

Here are a few pictures for reference for those interested in how they look

That looks a bunch better. I have the 405m’s with the P-zeros right now as you did and they are stretched more than I want.

Might have missed it, but I’d love to see what spacers you go with. I’m on the fence with the same options as you 10/12 or 12/15.

if I wasn't lowering I think I would definitely be going 10/12mm. I think I'm going to try the 12/15's though, luckily I have a friend looking to swap out a set of 10's for 15mm spacers so if I'm not happy with how they look I will swap with him.

Here you go mate, that's for the rear trim only with the slot in it.

This. If it was a special order option, that might have enticed me to buy new rather than used.

Took the car in to Revolution in Gateshead to have the Bilstein B14 coilover kit fitted. The cars been lowered approximately 30mm front and 20mm rear to even out the arch gaps. I asked them to leave a finger gap between the arch and tyre and they've pretty much got it spot on. They can go lower but I'm going to see how I get on at this height and if I have no issues getting around then I might drop them and other 5 - 10mm.

I had already fitted 12mm front and 15mm rear spacers. Before it was lowered the fronts poked out a little too much for my liking so I was going to change them to 10's. However the slight camber they have after being lowered tucks them nicely in to the arches and they now sit perfectly.

I haven't got many miles on them yet but initial impressions are good, there is no significant decrease in comfort over the passive m sport suspension - one of my concerns as this is my main car. You can feel they are firmer especially at lower speeds around town but certainly at higher speed and on the motorway they are an improvement.

I'll live with them a little longer before trying to give an honest opinion on how they perform and how they are to live with day to day. But at this moment I'm very happy.

Gorgeous matey! Love the M3 trimmed steering wheel changeover. Have you thought about adding the M3 paddles as well?

Thanks, I did have a set to put on but I sold them. Looking at getting these extended aluminium paddles from paddleshifterz.com. I love the ones that come in the Giulia Quadrifoglio, these are a similar size and style without looking too aftermarket.

Thanks pal, yeah it is a shame they didn't release it over there. I'm sure there would be some awesome examples if they had
