4 Series GC tailgate slam (slow it down)

First of all is not something new and been mention few times along with videos on youtube ect. but I never seen it done to F36, every time I would press buton to close the boot (tailgate) it would just slam, not a much of a problem when you outside the car but when you inside is little different experience, so after reading few post regards this I decided to give a try using bimmercode, so much better now, closes very smoothly. There is plenty videos on youtube if you need to know how to but I can confirm it works great on F36.

Video for reference done on X5

That I need to try.
In the 3 years I have owned my F36, that's probably what's been bugging me the most.
Thnx for sharing

Hi.
Got this coded today.
Works like a charm 😄.
Much nicer closing of the tailgate without a big slam.

Good video and a very noticeable difference.

I have never thought my F36 tailgate slams loudly though.

Mine always felt bit to harsh, I was use to nice slower/softer close on last car and come a cross this in x5 section so did wonder if would work on F36, I'm not sure how yours is coded by my pre lci had same speed, due to the coding now slows just before closes.

Hi.
My pre-LCI did also close with the same speed all the way to closed.
Now it slows down and gives a soft click when the lock locks the tailgate.
Much more high class sound.
I remember a year ago closing the tailgate being parked next to an AUDI driver.
And he looked at my car with an annoying smile hearing the tailgate close. That has annoyed me ever since.

I haven't really noticed the closure to be loud, but would love to be able to use the fob and interior button to close the boot - is this possible with bimmercode?

The fob does close the hatch on the F36 if you hold down the button.

Would you have the coding steps?
Might as well code in the soft close at the same time

Sure, basically go into Bimmercode, find the tailgate module at the bottom, select it.
At one of the options there, you can choose if the button in the cabin should also be used to close the tailgate. I don't remember exactly which one.
Go into Expertmode, find the 3020_HKL_kinematic and select it.
Find the Drezhal_segment_schl to control the speed at closing and select it.
Go to the bottom of the page to get to Custom value and select it.
You will there see 6-8 lines called something like Bit 0, bit 1, bit 2.
Click on the value at Bit 0 and delete what ever is there and key in 20.
For Bit 1 i put in 30 and for Bit 2 I put in 40.
The rest I left as it was.
Go back a few steps and press code.

Thats it.
