ios 13.1 issue when selecting songs
Whenever I have a song playing I cannot scroll over another song in iDrive to play it. I can click on it, and even use the touch screen, but it will not select that song.
I can use the analog buttons to scroll back and forth through songs. I have hard rebooted my phone. I have paired, and unpaired. No success. Any suggestions? Is this a bug, or should I try a hard reboot of my iDrive?

Same here, it has come and go when I was in the betas but unfortunately it doesn't work which is a bit annoying but I'm on the verge of updating my head unit to a 2018 for CarPlay so hopefully the iDrive kinks will be a thing of the past

Whelp let's keep this thread going. Maybe someone has a solution, or 13.1.1 comes out soon.

I'll try 13.1.1 and see, but I have no hope.

Per the release notes, It's not supposed to fix this issue.

I just installed 13.1.1, and no dice. I'll try a reboot of my phone. Maybe even unpair, and re-pair my iPhone.

I have tried everything including rebooting, another phone and etc..
I suggest we all submit this bug to apple, through their bug report. I have also started a topic on the Apple Community forums, which gained some traction. Here, have a look how many people responded with the same problem..: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250676400?page=1 |

As per my reply to the Apple thread I'm having the same issue on my 2018 F15 X5 X40d with iDrive 6 NBT EVO. I use a USB lightning cable in the centre arm rest and have done so for years without issue regardless of what BMW I've owned. The problems really started in iOS 12 when my playlists on iDrive would only show the first 100 songs and then the remainder would show as 'Track~101' etc. Now, with iOS 13.1.1 I can see tracks but can't select anything. I've erased all settings on iphone, restored iphone, unpaired and paired iphone with the car (bluetooth calls), tried bluetooth audio and tried CarPlay but the issue persists. It's clearly an Apple problem. I've replied to your Apple thread, filed a bug report and mentioned it to them via Twitter to which Apple Support replied saying so far what I've tried is good but I should try using CarPlay and/or 'forget' the devices and pair again. I replied back saying I've already done all that and now they've stopped replying! |

I updated to 13.1.2 and did not resolve the song selection issue. The issue does not present itself when I play songs under 'All Songs' . I can select songs using my steering wheel and idrive when under 'All Songs' but when I am in my various playlists, this issue shows up. The buttons for next or prev song works. This is very very annoying and dangerous while driving now that I have to touch my phone.

When I try to change a song from the steering wheel, I scroll to the song I want, hit the wheel selector. The check mark shows up on the selected song but the song doesn't change. The check mark goes back to the song previously playing.
Is there a fix? |

Correct. It's an issue with other manufacturers too.

I just updated to 13.1.3 last night, and the issue seems to have been fixed for me. Try deleting the phone from idrive, and then reset network setting on your phone.

Odd that the issue is present while playing music through usb too, although I don't really know how the interface works. |
