Interior ambient light

Hi, do someone with the last ambient mod (solid one, not 3d printed, one piece per door) have some photos in day and night of the final result? I'm trying to understand if it's worth 50-60€ (found it on ebay). I've seen some videos on youtube but everyone shows them keeping the camera low, at seat level, not head level, so obviously they looks brighter but how does it look at head level?

To be honest, the it is a bit underwhelming. If you use Classic mode and crack up the brightness to full, it is not bad at all. But in sport mode, it is quite dim.

Maybe I am jaded because recently I had an X2 loaner with ambient lighting and it was quite bright.

I have been thinking about getting these, but quite frankly I am too lazy to remove door trim panels:

Honestly, do you think they're worth their price?

(ehm, I see you've got an M3, I have a 318d so.. consider the price difference.. an over 50usd mod for ambient lightning is, for me, already a slightly expensive mod so I have to think about it more than I would with a random aliexpress 3usd carbon look trim)

btw, congrats for the car! it's an M3 CS right?

My apologies for not getting to this last night. Here are some pictures I took this morning before the sun came up. Conditions were:

Taken with Samsung Galaxy S8+ in Auto mode at eye height (phone directly in fron t of eyes).
Lighting brightness in i-drive settings turned up to maximum
Overall lighting wheel (next to headlight switch) also turned up to maximum.

As a reference I have also included a picture of my HVAC area which has a chinese LCI LED surround plate. The pictures are definitely brighter looking than actual.

Thanks! Yes it's a M3 CS. I do a lot of night driving so I think it's worth it. Not many mods can do so much for $60.

You're right.. I drive in night a lot too so I think I'll get it. If you look at it closely you still see a smooth light line?

150 dollars is really much for ambient strips. It does look for me also too bright and not OEM anymore

Full brightness both on i-Drive and master light switch produces something in between the two sets of pictures in real life. Don't get me wrong, it is nice, but not as nice as the full LED strips (at least from the pictures I have seen).
