First time launching the car since I got it. Bone stock n26 32i x drive. 13.8 at 97mph.
Back after injen intake, bms stage 1 flash, 4 inch catless dp, oem exhuast with muffler delete. Had her at 13.1 with 1.7 60ft. Trap was 102.7 Hoping to upgrade the jb4, bigger fmic, meth, and bigger turbo. Shooting for the low 12 high 11 area. Only question is how long the the motor will last lol |

jamoka3 is in NJ and he's running 13.1 w/o DP/intake/etc just Active8 w/ RaceGas im 100% sure that intake is hurting instead of helping, the N20 doesn't like it too much. And maybe bms stage1 is not taking advantage of the catless dp so u should either flash tune or get jb4 (map2 for DP or 93 octane)

Interestingly it appears the vast majority of your split times after the 330' mark show improvement as the night wore on (except of course for the run without the air filters). Not sure the reason(s) - if it is due to subtle weight differences as gas is being used, or changes in the car's programming matrix after it gets some runs under its belt, or whether the engine's mechanics come into play, ...? Also interesting that the slowest 60'-330' split time was the one without the filters then it clearly takes the times thereafter. Someone into racing and engine dynamics might could explain that one. It would be interesting to see which of your air filters (pre- or post- engine) seems to make the most difference on improving your engine performance. If the track is clean and you could run a stock, then with just the air filter, then just the emissions filter, then with both removed as you did on the 25th, the split times might provide some clues as to which filter is slowing your performance the most. Max Well- Once again thanks for your time and help in calculations.
Rob (robnyc) and I where talking about this and unfortunately, I am thinking the times guy at the track got the lanes mixed up as the times in the next lane on my time slip makes more sense, even still i was running consistent low 13's pretty much all night... I only removed the main air filter but left the gray post- emissions filter still in place. I do plan on going back to Island soon and maybe making my way down to ATCO for some comparison runs? I will post the results as soon as we go.

Jamoka 3 - after placing your best drag slip time next to ROBNYC's in his new X4 M40i, and seeing how remarkably close they are across the board, I was wondering if you both have had a chance to race side-by-side? Aside from the performance testing it would appear to be a reasonable competition even though the vehicles are markedly different.

What are the outside temps when you where running? How many runs have you done / how long are you sitting in the staging lanes? The reason why I ask is because our stock inter-coolers heat soak pretty quickly. I also noticed your 60' times seem high, are you spinning through first gear? Lack of traction off the line...

I was waiting an while, and my Logs files did show my IAT been excessively high - and that I believe has affected my tune. And I was spinning my wheels through the gears - just about to order some new rubber - M PS4's I do not want to go down the route of an Wagner intercooler - so just ordered an K&N panel filter. Next time on the stip -I turn the car off and push it to keep the IAT temperature low. Enclosed log file on drag and also one from the weekend. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7237/...097f2c8a_b.jpg Logsfiles 15th Was my Drag Logs 22nd Was my test runs yesterday As you can see my IAT was running 118-140 doing the drag - however powerruns were 94-110

As my interest lies more in the split times beyond the first 60', your vehicle actually didn't run that far off jamoka3 and ROBNYC, and in fact you won one of the split intervals (660'-1000'). As I did on the X4 forum when I compared ROBNYC's and jamoka3's vehicle specs to try to understand why they ran so close in their times, I have now placed your specs next to their data. I don't know what year your vehicle was made, nor do I know the temp when you ran your times, and I don't know if your JB4 Stage 2 is producing the 50HP the specs claim as I never ran the curves for the Z series in my simulations. Although you have a smaller and lighter vehicle, your coefficient of drag is not as slippery as jamoka3's which may be playing a role at the higher speeds. It could also be the heat (which you both discuss directly above) was decreasing your performance, for unlike ROBNYC's and jamoka3's drag slip documentations over the previous months, your split times did seem to worsen as the night wore on whereas their times usually show a rather consistent improvement during the night. For three very different vehicles by design, it is quite interesting to me when comparing the split times to see how the power and aerodynamics come together. Max Last edited by Max Well; 05-26-2016 at 07:05 PM.. Reason: JPEG of BIGBOYQ's 4 drag slips was scrolled so all data didn't show. This has been corrected now. |

Well did rolling road and achieved 308Bhp - but suffered heat soak and my AIT temps were high. So tomorrow I am installing a water spray kit - hope this helps. New tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 4's.
I have noticed though - if I put my foot to the floor the car will only rev upto 3,000 RPM that's the maximum launch rev.

BIGBOYQ's latest runs compiled into the Excel Drag Sheet. As 1000' times not provided two of the split intervals cannot be calculated. It seems possible the manual transmission may be contributing to some of the variability between the runs? If one searches 'manual vs auto transmissions' cross-referencing 'drag racing', a number of discussions can be found debating the pros and cons of both types.
