iDrive Screen - "Brightness at Night" Setting

Hi guys,

I just picked up my 440i over in the UK and have noticed a setting in the software that has changed since my last motor.

In the iDrive, Settings>Display>Brightness - this option has now changed to "Brightness at Night"

What this means is that the idrive screen automatically dims depending on ambient light and its VERY sensitive. So much, it is really hacking me off right now as it constantly changes the brightness as I drive around. This is in daylight!

I assume this can be coded as someone on another forum accidentally changed theirs to this "new" setting and noticed the same as I did. Trouble is, they just reset to defaults and changed it back to the standard "brightness" setting.

I can't do that as I hadn't done any coding so the "Brightness at Night" is a new "feature" (yeah great!)

So question is, does anyone know where this setting is so I can code it off?

I assume its something like "Helligkeit bei Nacht" which is the German translation but not had chance to hook up and have a search yet.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Rukka

I wonder if you have a borked sensor or something. On my car I've noticed no fluctuations in brightness except when headlights turn on or off.

yes mate - there is a change on the new(er) models and the method of controlling the idrive screen brightness has changed.

I found the code for it and reverted it back to the original settings which just controls the brightness as before.

Have a read here,
