11 Brand-New, Never-Registered E34 5-Series Found In A Warehouse

Stumbled across this on roadandtrack.com and wanted to share:

https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cul...ies-barn-find/

A barn find in Bulgaria consisting out of 11 never-driven E34's

Anyone interested in some naturally aspirated straight-six goodness? They will apparently sell them for around 15.000€.

P.S.: I didn't know where to post this because there is no E34 Forum on Bimmerpost.

I’ll take one “with out the dents”. How about (2) for 25k? Should be able to import to the US with “classic/antique status” no?

Having owned a '93 535i and a '95 540i, these bring back memories. Great find.

There is a romance with the past reading and wanting a e34 like this. Nostalgia is a fickle friend.

Interesting manual transmissions were chosen for a rental car business.

I'm guessing it's the result of two factors:
1) Manual transmissions are/were much more prevalent in Europe vs. North America.
2) Manual transmissions (and proficiency of) was much more common in the 1990s (nearly 30 years ago!).

Certainly nice to see, but wonder what it'll cost to get them road-worthy again. I'd taken the wagon!

Not really in Europe. Every rental I’ve had in Europe (Fiat, Alfa, Ford) were manual, including a little Ford people mover! A lot of the taxis are manual too.

Meanwhile in Aus you can’t even get manuals in a lot of cars anymore (certainly not if you want modern creature comforts).

1990, one year after the fall of Communism and at the height of corruption and organized crime... this was not a rental car business but a money laundering operation gone wrong...

EAG: While this may be a great collection, the 520/525 e34 variants were rather common. With that said, it’ll be hard pressed to find people who would want to purchase them as every rubber component under the hood would need to be changed out as none of these e11even e34’s are turn key. We strongly feel that an offer of $50,000 USD is fair for the complete collection.

Seller(s): DEAL.

Six (6) months later.......

EAG: Ladies and Gentlemen, we proudly present an astounding collection of ten e34 sedans (very rare and desirable 520’s and the robust 525’s) in impeccable condition as well as one e34 touring. Many of these e34’s are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission to satisfy the typical performance oriented driver. With kilometers ranging from 6 to 59, they are all virtually brand new. EAG has given all e34’s a comprehensive 25 year service which includes all new fluids, rubber components, gaskets, tune up and new tires. All 520i sedans are offered for only $69,999.00 each while the 525i’s are $72,999.99. The touring is offered only at a mere $79,999.99. Shipping would be extra.
