Good coding software

Looking at something idiot proof for basic coding. Anyone with firsthand suggestions?

I'm old fashioned and prefer esys myself, however I understand Carly and Bimmercode are the go to tools for people that want to do it the easy way.

Bimmercode and a iPhone 6 has mostly worked well with my '15 4GC.

I say mostly as I've had no luck in altering the Daylight Running Light levels, to reduce them.

In many other ways it's been faultless.

I recently got Bimmercode & a Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 (Bluetooth) extremely easy to setup with the iPhone and in non expert mode it's very easy, clear & straight forward to find and code common codings with no issues.

I've got Carly and the Carly adapter. It was faultless on my old E46, but the connection seems flaky on my F31. Not sure if it's the Carly or iOS12 that's a fault, but it quite often fails to code the first time, so you have to restore from the backup and try again.

I used Bimmercode and their wireless adapter no problems when using and helpline very efficient if needed
If using wireless on pad or phone remember to turn on airplane mode which stops any interruptions while coding as this can be detrimental during the coding process

Bimmercode for sure! Even me, having written guides etc. based around using e-sys cannot be bothered with using e-sys now I have Bimmercode. Yeah it’s £50 for the app and a dongle but for the headaches it saves it’s worth it.

Get a Bluetooth dongle, they’re much better than the wifi ones.
