I wish CMD had better pricing for individual tuners who don't tune dozens of vehicles.

Yes or a Tool with Moduls for that what you need. But I think BM3,MHD,XHP open a lot for us.

I find BM3 too expensive when you have no intention to use the included OTS maps. MHD have no intentions at this time to add support for latest N55 PWG software but I really want to run the latest so I've been holding off.

Looking forward to XHP. I'm just going to make a backup, increase the 3rd and 6th limits a little, enable gear display in D and flash that for now. I'm pretty happy with the stock calibration otherwise.

As soon as I sort out a cost effective way to flash my FEF v129_180, I'll put my downpipe in and start working on a tune.

Hmmm. I only can Talk about Germany and here i think it is not to expensive. Not all Tuners are Tuners

It is more to do than rising Limiters in a Gearbox that is Tuned for higher HP and Torque Rating. You Spend more Time for a Gearbox tune compared to a Engine Tune when you want a good Function and long Durability. This is my experience with 8HP Audis like RS6 and 3.0BiTdi. Drive a car without Gearbox Tune and one with a Full Tuned and you feel the Difference.

What is the Problem with the last PWG Flash ? What I-Stufe is it ?

When I say too expensive, I mean too expensive for me to justify for the wife's car when I don't want or need the OTS maps.

I'm happy with the stock calibration and only need a small increase to the 3rd and 6th limits. The other tables are still scaled beyond those limits with legitimate values. I'll make further changes down the track.

FEF v180 came out very early 2018 I believe. I do not want my ROM downgraded to v160 from 2016 as MHD does. Yes it will work but I want to use the latest.

I don't need anything else, I know how to raise torque limiters for sure, don't need anything else from 8hp gearbox as it's working good enough.

Fortunately, the turbo in my car killed itself, so a delay here won't bother me.

PS2 here I come.

You can use WinOLS demo to search for that pattern and add an up and down difference of 180 each way and it should catch it (with some other stuff you can ignore).
Hello, can i check limits for 8hp70 in this way ? Want to compare BMW/Alpina software (335d | 435d)

Run the bin file through STUNS. From there, grab the 512KB file in the !OutUCL2B folder and you can open with WinOLS or a hex editor but there are no definitions for where to go from there. I have access to an 8HP OLS but I'm not permitted to share it.
I did as you say, but can't find any reference to a series of numbers like the ones you have; I do have tables autodectected by WinOLS though, some seem to make sense and indicate a 625 figure that could well be legitimate for my hybrid transmission (specsindicate 630Nm max input)

Would it be possible to share a screenshort of what the map looks like in WinOLS for you? So can see if it looks remotely similar

Looks like PTF have some testing going on with some people regarding the torque limiters on the 8HP. Hopefully they are working on a fix. Glad I didn't pull the trigger on xHP just yet.

xHP is more than just a torque limiter removal, so I'd still like to have it even if I have bm3.

True... For me I'm totally fine with the way the 8HP performs. The only thing that I want is to remove the torque limiters and paying $300 for that just doesn't make sense to me.

bumping a mega old thread....

been exploring my n55 bin and came across a section with a table header of 0-9 (assuming RN12345678) and noticed that all cells on my F25 Xdrive were filled with 492

Interestingly enough, I've also had issues with requesting more than 492NM torque.

Not wanting to bump and screw with load to torque tables, I'm wondering if anyone has seen these before....

both values (column labels and values) have not been scaled.

EDIT - NOPE. No change on outputs.

What is the practical effect of removing torque limiters on 3rd and 6th?

Post above is correct. The torque limiters are exactly what they sound like - they are limiting the amount of torque in 3rd and 6th, so regardless of how much power the tune can put out, you wont get all of it. I don't think you hit them with stage 1 tunes (although close) but you will hit with stage 2 or above. MHD allows you to see it in the logs, not sure about BM3.

Thanks for the simple explanation. Good to know. I'm only on stage 1 MHD.
