now that idrive works systemwide you can install any launcher without any issue at all. Set as default and voila'

Anyone knows if i can buy android screen with cic connection without cic navi?

At know i only have profesional radio, but i am going to buy cic navi.. Thank you!

It will work if you have no CIC installed, you just have to control the whole unit with touch until you get your CIC System.

Have you found any proper launcher since your review? Also, how do you select the Cars computer in these?

These units only support some of the LTE bands used in EU, including Finland. It probably works fine in more populated areas. I’m using a portable wifi hotspot in my car so its not a big deal.

Currently using automate as launcher but its a bit buggy and dated. I have tried all available launchers and none of them have been good, automate is still the best one IMO. I think AA would be good if it worked properly as standalone app,but it doesn’t.

The problem with not saving the volume or equalizer settings is a MCU problem or more specifically a problem of combining the latest mcu with the latest firmware . When i had 3.8.0 firmware with my initial mcu 190812 there was no problem. After i put latest mcu the problem appeared. When i downgrade my firmware to 2.8.3 retaining the mcu then the problem does not apply again.

Also for some reason the 2.8.3 appears to give better sound qulaity to me although the sound quality in general is very poor and i i did not yet get to uninstall the aux cable.from the armrest as it was suggested to see if it improves anything.

Anyway, Does anyone have the 190812 mcu lzh for ccc to install again ?

Mhm what could be the cause that i cant Switch to idrive. Switching through the Android ui gives me no Signal.
Also idrive Control doesnt work

Hi is there a way to modify UI interface? maybe an application to modify skins. I want to remove or replace unusable icons on the main screen.

Does your unit boot up as soon as you unlock your car or with ignition on ?

How far does it boot at all ? any screenshots ?

So following up on my previous post about a flickering screen. It's definitely heat causing it with the screen starting to flicker at 60degrees. Vendor sent me a new MCU but it turns out I'm already running this "newer version" from following this forum.

because when it does get no CAN signal it would turn up as soon as you unlock the car = when it does get power.
so Dashboard does also work ? (CAN).

Does switching Radio on the OEM HU (keys on Steering wheel) do work in background (OEM HU is up and running) ?
and i assume you have already tried the different Can bus Protocoll settings (4 different)

I don`t know if the CCC (one button) controller will work on OEM CIC Unit as it was not sold this way.
But i recommend you anyways to upgrade to the 7-Button controller, its much easier to control the Units with it.

The problem is, that my car is an e87 series 1, and i have the idrive ccc because the before owner of the car retrofit it, and it is very dificult to have the 7 button controller with the plastic trimmer. And it is possibility to make the cic and android screen working with the chinese controller that have the radio?

I had the pseudo controller bought with my former PX6 Unit, the controller was not working on OEM CIC side, only on Android side.

The CIC Controller has been built in in many other cars so it is easy to get, check the compatiblity list here.
the Controller has also been used for MASK-2 , and CCC with latest update also support the 7-button controller.

To get the CIC-trim is indeed an issue for the E87 (same as E81/E82/E88).
Sometimes people do sell the centerconsole with the controller trim, so this way you maybe also find one.

It would be possible to mount it into the CCC Trim with modification use an E90 CIC Controller which is normally sold with an additional adapter, so you can glue this in.
Other way would be to 3D print a trim, i started designing one some time ago but then switched to the F20 Center console.
