Bootmod3 stage 1 gains
Looking to flash my car to an OTS Bootmod3 stage 1, the 93 octane to be specific. What kind of gains as far as hp and torque should I gain? Also how much higher would my boost be as it relates to psi?

You'll be targeting 20.85 psi of boost. Haven't seen any dynos of BM3 stage 1 yet, but I think 50whp and 60wtq is a reasonable guess.

I'm getting stage 1 93 octane next month (probably middle of the month). I will have everything installed that's listed in my sig below.
Hopefully I will have some time to get three pulls done on a Dynojet

I've been looking for this info for forever. I'm going to get my car on a Dyno stock by the end of the summer. Should have stage 1 done with intercooler and m performance exhaust by December. I'll post a base line and the results after. I think most people are afraid to post their numbers because the horse power figures are low on these cars but the torque is incredible.

I'll keep you guys posted, I intend to have this done within the next 2 weeks... I finally got my charge pipes in the mail, been waiting due to the whole "Any raised boost blows the plastic charge pipes..." thing.
At the moment, only thing left to do is install the charge pipes, and find a AWD dyno at a reasonable price in Atlanta. |

Expect just a little lower than JB4 (20-30hp, 40-50tq) but a smoother dyno

Butt Dyno definitely notices a difference... I still haven't found an AWD dyno that has time availability for me, when I need it. I may not get a chance to dyno it before I get my FMIC and DP installed for stage 2. Still need to get a LPFP though.

You can't just say "JB4" and not list which JB4 map you are comparing to the Bootmod3 ots stage 1. I am sure that the most aggressive JB4 map will put down more than a Bootmod3 ots stage one, but I am also sure that a Bootmod3 ots stage 2 flash would be stronger than anything from JB4 (when talking like for like fuel)....

If you are shooting for 300whp, you are going to need to go Bootmod3 stage 2 93 octane, with full bolt-ons (catless down pipe, full exhaust, upgraded intercooler/charge pipes etc...)

I'd say 300whp is a E30 tune, which is what I have... However there is a tuner that claims he can a E85 tune for your car without you having to upgrade your LPFP...

Agreed. A dyno is a tuning tool, not an apples to apples comparison of results. A closer comparison would be a 1/4 (though that still involves variables as well). STG 1 93 will likely net a 25whp/30wtq bump. Larger expectations than that are a bit unreasonable and the current documentation of 1/4 mile comparisons (stock to stg1) don't support the theory of 30+hp/wtq gains.

Thought I'd share my experience as both a JB+ and now a Bootmod3 Stage 1 user. to note my car is dead stock. I had been running the JB+ for 2 years now and had it set to +3,5 psi and is a great little piece of Hardware and had tons of fun driving with it. My Experience with the JB+ was that (because it only boosts psi) it would kick in at close to 4000rpm and the power gain was very noticeable. I have used Torque to data log and would see a max psi in the region of 19psi all up. I have gone up against many 3 litre v6 cars, power to weight ratio being a big factor here but have left them behind from a dig and pulled away. i have also gone up against an Audi S3 and it was very close, with the S3 pulling away slightly. The one thing that did bother me with the JB+ was the fact that it made the car jerky and was not that smooth through the gears but overall I had a great experience with it. I decided to take it a step further and also wanted some burbles so decided to go with the bootmod3 stage1 tune. Have been running the tune for a couple of days now and from my experience what a difference over the JB+. More power and smoother to boot, my car feels like anther machine. Same torque app used on same profile setting and my psi is now at 21.9psi. I also noted that the sports display has been re calibrated through bootmod3 and i have got it to 220KW. (295HP). Ready to take on the Audi S3 again for a rematch in the near future . The slight burbles that come with the stage 1 tune are fine for now and sound better in Sports Mode with flap always open. Hope this helps somewhat. Cheers |
