190F08 Tank vent valve
About a year ago I was having an issue where every time I went to pump gas the pump kept stopping like the tank was full, very irritating. had no CEL but checked for codes anyway and had code 190f08. Bought part 13-90-7-643-106 (fuel tank ventilation valve), swapped it in and the issue was gone. Well I was pumping gas the other day and the issue resurfaced. On the way home did some spirited driving, CEL showed up, no surprise same code. So obviously I need to replace the vent valve again but wondering if anyone knows what would contribute to a vent valve failure. I find it hard to believe that this part would fail twice without a contributing factor. clogged charcoal canister? When it comes to EVAP systems I'm pretty useless so I don't even know where to begin to look. Anyone have any info? Will post this same thread in the b58 forum as well for exposure. Thanks in advance!

I started having this same problem after BMW dropped my gas tank for a warranty repair. Is the part you are talking about the same one mentioned in this thread?
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...5#post27824565 I never tried to replace anything. My issue still persists but i drive so little i only get gas like once a month, and the issue is pretty rare for me. |

actually no. But maybe I should pull that sucker off and see if I can't clear it out. Seems more likely than the vent valve failing again.
