Smile Lowering Springs & Wheel Spacer Rubbing

Hey guys

I own an f32 440i with an Mperformance splitter and 18mm wheel spacers at the rear. I plan to lower my car but am worried about the rear tyres rubbing on the fenders. Anyone on here with a similar setup?

Was thinking H&R Sport springs.

I dont plan to track the car, and the roads are smooth and flat mostly.

My rear tyres are 255/35, 19" rims.

18mm spacers on the rear will definitely rub against the arches, I have 19" wheels with the same tyre size as yours and had 12mm spacers that were causing my arches to rub. I am also lowered on Eibach springs.

The other issue with 18mm spacers is that your wheels are going to stick out from the body which isn't a good look.

18mm is excessive by all means!
12-13mm seems to be the most common maximum, although I read some even do 15 without issues.

I can confirm no problems with 13mm, even with a trailer and 2 persons on the back seat. I am also lowered, but not excessively.

I used to run 12.5mm front and 18mm rear spacers with my staggered 19” 442Ms (235/35 & 255/35 PS4S). Brings the wheels out flush, with no rubbing anywhere. Lowering will add camber, tucking further…

18mm in the rear, with the OE 8.5 et47 wheel equals an offset of 29. Not radical or excessive really..

Thank you all for the feedback!

I think I might just remove the rear spacers entirely and see how that looks. The thought of paying 200$ for the 18mm spacers, paying to remove and install new ones, and paying another 200$ for the new ones is just too much I feel. I would have spent a total of 500$ for rear spacers, the price of the springs + installation :')

I got a 14' f32 428i. Just ordered 20mm spacers for the rear. Got 442m wheels and 255/35/19 stock height etc.. will it rub? I measured it it shouldn't but it's really close tho.

Thanks

I think you’ll be fine - it’s only 2mm difference. My F36 is an Xdrive though, so it does have a slightly lower rear track width than non-Xdrive…

Cool thanks, getting them on next weekend and will post pics and also edit my profile properly.. lol

Can't wait! Mines in sapphire metallic black, m sport, m sport lip and rear diffuser. After the spacers I'll get h&r springs or different wheels but that's last, I need to get AWE axel back quad or dual exhaust, intake and tune it first so yeah..

Edit; I might go for remus anyone know if their louder/better than AWE touring? Any hp differences?

Thanks
