I had the same type of scratches on my piano black trim. I was able to buff most of the scratches out using a buffer and mild polish - Menzerna SF4000. Not quite perfect, but looks much better. I got my scratches from dragging a vacuum hose across it. It's easier if you pop the piece off - very simple; just lifts up. The control unit just unplugs in one spot.

I have some very light scratches on mine and its brand new and I am very careful. I agree with a light polishing; I was able to remove most of the light scratches by hand (I did not remove any pieces). Any quality polish should work (Menzerna makes first class polishes BTW). I applied a sealant (Sonax PNS) on it and may try Opti-coat as well to see if that helps offer a little protection from marring. I really wish I had the hex aluminum trim and would love the CF trim! I think both look great and don't show the scratches nearly as much!
