Sport Mode Vs Comfort Mode

I have a quick question

1) Is it okay to shift between driving modes regularly when on move. I get bored when on Comfort mode and tend to switch a lot to SPORT mode when on the move ? I mean..Every 30-40 minutes or so ..

2) Is there a preferred way of switching between driving modes for better longevity for the car ?

I also have a question regarding Connected Drive. I accidentally locked the car with the keyfab inside and called the BMW assist to do a remote unlock just to know that it cannot be done on my car as "they said I dont have that facility ". In the end they send the road side assistance team who came in 30 minutes and unlocked it for me.

What variant of 328i comes with the option to do a remote unlock .

I have a base 2015 328I

Switch as much as you want...I doubt anyone here has had their cars long enough to see adverse affects on longevity.

In my experience, it's a rough drive in stop and go traffic. It doesn't want to be crawling and lurches around.

First thing I do when I get in the car, sport mode, gear shift to the left. Haven't been in comfort mode in almost two years

They seriously couldn't remotely unlock your doors?? You don't have the facility? what does that even mean? I wonder if you have to have the technology package. I thought about having them send me a remote unlock signal just to see how it works. Who came to unlock it? someone with a slimjim?

Hmm...must be more specific than that: the car locks while driving. Since most people have two keys, this should be quite easy to test.

Remote unlock feature might be a problem at some point? http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/bmw-connect...ocking-1486215

Thanks all for the response...I like the sport mode when not in traffic.

Btw. Regarding lockout

The Keyfab was in the trunk ..and they said they can do remote unlock if "you have connected drive " . I thought till date that i had connected drive because i use to see the screen "Connected Drive" coming up and i can request for service n lot of other things..But they later said.."your car is not equipped with that feature"

I was in Helen (Georgia,US) for a short trip when this happened and they sent someone (in less than 45 minutes) who squeezed a rod inside and opened the front door. Then i went to back seat and accessed the trunk by pulling down the middle portion of the seats.

I think you need 6AP, "Remote Services" which is in the technology package.

My trunk won't close on either of the F30's I've owned if the fob is in it... immediately reopens. Not sure how you did that.

(or how I know it stops me from being an idiot)

Yes, but the car is on. Thought I'd the car was off and they fob was inside, it would not lock.

I tried the remote door unlock, it worked but they asked too many questions. I also regret not getting the comfort access feature...

Why Sport Plus instead of Sport?
Unless you're WOT, Comfort and Sport don't get both exhaust ports open while driving. Sport+ gets both all the time. At least, that's the only reason I ever use it. Without any bolt on exhaust parts, it's the best the sound gets.
