After buying mine in quarter 3 I just helped a colleague get one on the Q4 deal. Apr is reduced to 2.9% which helps.

He put £500 deposit in and on a 48 month deal, 15,000 miles a year, he's paying £580 a month. Bear in mind that this is for a car with a lot higher spec than mine. It has M Sport Plus, folding mirrors, Comfort Pack, Technology Pack, and sunroof.

This was from Stratstone, sure they could get another stock car as well.

That is a ridiculous deal. Works out about £440-450 as a base spec, plus a better mileage allowance than the usual 8k

Unless you mean £5000 deposit and not £500

Which Stratstone was this out of interest?

No, it was £500. Stratstone Chesterfield offered it, but then my colleague asked his local dealer, which I think is Northampton, to match. And they did.

It's a stock car, he collects next week.

Spent last night looking at various video reviews. Exhaust sound alone wins it for me - I'm so shallow. Good opportunity to annoy the neighbors and their poxy little barking rat....

Personally I'd always want a new car. Pre Reg is ok too, not been driven but a DP car is also their demonstrator so.... there's that

Saying that you would probably enjoy the extra packs too. The TRL pre-reg deal I took had 3 of the 4 packs on it and was £2800 + £500/month if this helps you. It was a £57k car financed on £47k.

I’m not too sure how I should value that against a new ‘base’ spec one, both on PCP. Given that I would be handing either back after 4 years, any views about whether a high spec 3 month old example should be cheaper than a new base spec one?
Well i guess its already registered so should be cheaper? Options that cost £1500 when new dont add much more than £400 when selling on...and that depends on the options.

Let us know what you think of the drive? Oh and pics if you can...

Anyone know if you can spec Adaptive on the M40i without having to take the full MSport Plus package at £2.7K? Configurator won't let me, and you end up with the black M seats and 21" wheels, neither of which I want tbh.

Joe Achilles' wee dumpy pal Pete had pretty much the spec I want in his head to head with the X3M comp and I've seen lots of other examples where Adaptive is a non-pack addition.

Just spoke to Stratstones ref X3M and the price given is for a basic 1....all basic ones are gone so cost would be more due to spec up cars...

That was their trick in the 40d as well. But they further discounted the options for me and it meant that it was still a great deal.

Before you start speccing your own car up, I'd check with the dealer, I suspect that this deal is for stock cars only. Not 100% sure, I've emailed someone myself, but not heard back.

Spent a bit of time this morning at the dealers.

There are a few X3M out there at the £1000 Dep & £580ish a mth. With a few options on i.e comfort pack, Sun Glass, but they come pretty loaded up 21", extended Merino,HUD etc. It was a very nice place to sit and definitely feels more upmarket that the standard X3, that exhaust!

Specced up a M40d (£550ish) so there is not a lot of difference in cost, bare the "small" extra deposit and monthlies. That X3M high GMFV is really skewing the monthlies.

Just need to justify the extra service/petrol/ins costs....man maths time.

I’ve asked the local dealer to match the Vardy deal on the M40i so will see what they say. Good shout on the stock car - I’ll also email Vardy and see what they say. If these are harder to shift than the 40d there might be a deal to be had anyway.

Was doing a bit of man maths this morning as well - all three above plus the extra monthlies is £300 pm more for me. Or put another way, a 42% increase. But as we all know, 42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything.

Not beyond the realms of possibility. If only the ride quality wasn’t so shit. Haven’t seen a review yet that hasn’t slated it.

Well that was interesting.

Asked Vardy online if the offer was just for stock - got a call back within 5 minutes to say that while they do have stock cars, they would also do the same deal for my spec, with only the cost of extras vs GFV change being added to the monthlies.

I smell a whiff of desperation....
