New Turner Tune__100HP gains

Has anyone looked into this tune... I talked with ECS and they say its legit and they are running it on a bunch of cars with no problems... how are they able to get so much HP when everyone else is getting like 60 - 80 ??

Interesting that the Turner Stage 2 doesn't mention a downpipe.

How much do you think this tune pushes the boost up to?

No clue. I run BM3 on my F30 but of all the cars I've owned (German) stage 2 typically needs a downpipe. This is the first I've seen only needing IC/Catback

Right now i target 16.5. The dinan stuff is very conservative and expensive but it comes with warranty.

Just a thought... what to stop a few people from going in on this? It only requires the OBD port to be uploaded.... why not "share"?

The tune is typically licensed to a specific VIN, or the tuner used to flash the car will be locked to that vehicle's VIN until it's uninstalled.

This tune requires a Windows PC. It actually requires you to send your base tune to Turner Motorsports and they will actually send you a modified tune based on that. It's very similar to a lot of ECU tunes available on the market now, including BM3. Although BM3 doesn't use your stock tune, which I was always a little skeptical of.

They're not stupid. They'd never sell a product that allowed you to just plug in an OBD2 dongle and rewrite the car's software an unlimited number of times.

Of course BM3 uses your stock tune. Its the only one that does that bro.

I'm talking about tunes in general, not just for the F30 N55. My Chevy SS had a tune from a shop called Livernois and they did it similarly as this Turner tune. You'd send them an image of your ECU and they'd send back a modified file a day or two later.

BM3 and MHD both seem to be like the Cobb Accessport which just load generic OTS maps. I had both an Accessport and currently use BM3.

I'm not saying one is better than the other. Maybe they don't actually modify your stock mappings and just use it to verify compatibility. Either way, BM3 does it a bit differently from the Turner tune.

Unless of course you count Active Autowerke. They also use your stock tune.

OTS maps aren't bad for a starting point but a custom tune is always the best. I'm just having a hard time believing you can make almost 90+hp without downpipe and intercooler. Also there's no talk about upgrading your charger pipes. Not sure if the stock plastic can take higher level of psi. I'm willing to do it. Just need more info.

I feel like i been posting this alot on the forum but im putting down 400 and 455tq on just jb4 bef and cp. My cp broke as soon as i put jb4. On just jb4 b4 the bef i put down 400 and 430tq. If you want to be in the mid 4s u need a dp and intercooler. Everything is pretty inexpensive. Dp is around $200-1k+ and intercool could be had for around $3-500
