So today I went back to Cooper BMW Sunderland and got my new 420i M-Sport Gran Coupe with 21 miles on the clock.

Part exchanged my 2015 320i M-Sport. Sad to see it go, as I had looked after that car from new. Someone will buy a good used car.

Drove the 214 miles back in the new car, through several heavy downpours, so the nice shiny car is already dirty. A good experience with the dealer, and would recommend them.

Congrats on the new car... Mmmm black... looks great!

I live about 5 miles from Coopers so have seen some great cars at cracking prices. Lasy year, I had my eye on a shadow at 25.5k. A week later it was 23k and gone the next day. So even though they aren't my local dealer of choice (Lloyds get my cash) they are worth watching if your in the market. I find their trade-in is very poor and service/parts ect to be on the pricey side.

I think it's good to have a long run when you first pick up the car to get a feel and to look for any niggles. I'm assuming you took Newcastle road and joined the A184, then straight onto the A1(M) instead of the A19 which would take you through Teeside. New cars normally conk out around there as they can't handle the pollution being sucked in through the grille.

You seem really happy with the car and that's all that matters.

Cheers....yes happy with the car and the deal. I had been looking at the market for the last 3 or 4 months for a GC. Was considering a 12 month old car with up to 5k mileage so when I saw these at a great price with delivery mileage it was a no brainer. I am not averse to travelling for a car either. Got my 3 series as a new car from London through a works scheme, and have bought pre-registered cars from Warrington and other places, but Sunderland was the furthest I had travelled. To be honest it was all motorway and an easy route.

I knew my 3 series was going to cost me money soon with rear tyres, major service and renewing the extended warranty so it was the right time to change.

Congrualtions on the new car!

Reminds me of a few years ago when I drove from Leicester to Harry Fairbairn Kirkcaldy BMW in 1 day to pick up my E92 330i (spec was mega so was worth it!). That was over 350 miles one way, left at 4AM Saturday and got back around 1AM Sunday! Never again!

Just wanted to share with you a few figures, as there are several per-registered cars still for sale at Cooper BMW Sunderland.

I have managed to find the March 2019 420i Gran Coupe price list/spec brochure, which matches my car with all of its specification, and this is what I have found.

420i M-Sport with Professional Media/Nav- 35,980
M-sport plus package - 1,500
(Consists on sun protection glass, M-Sport brakes, Harman Kardon surround sound system and 19" diamond cut 704M alloys.)
Sport Automatic transmission (not standard on 420i) 1690
Metallic paint - 665
Total RRP for this car 39,835 (under the luxury car tax bracket)
Price - 25,980 - pre-registered 30.04.10 with 21 miles recorded.

Saving is 13,855 or 35%

I dealt with a saleman who made the whole process very easy. The collection was seemless, and the car nicely prepared and spotlessly clean with a full tank of fuel. This was a better experience than when I bought my brand new BMW 320i M-Sport from BMW Hyde Park, London.

My V5 in my name arrived today, 5 days after collection.

If any of you guys are thinking of getting this car, have a look at their deals. I am a very happy customer.

I got mine from there last September.
Same spec as yours except mine is the F32.
Pre-registered only 4 months old with 60 miles on the clock and it was 24900.
They do have really good deals and they are a decent dealer. Guy i dealt with left a couple of months ago though.
Car wasnt quite ready when i went to collect it so they gave me one of the other salesmans F32 for the weekend and a full tank of fuel.

Cracking deal saw your other thread and your motor looks fantastic.

The 4GC is one of the nicest shapes on the road, from any brand
