Squeaky Rear End

Ever since the snow I've had a squeak coming from the rear right wheel well every time I go over a bump or rut in the road, does anyone know what specifically this could be?

Maybe some salt has got onto a moving part and causing a bit of friction?

If you start pushing up and down from the boot does do you hear it? If so could be the bushings on one of the rear arms (I can'r remember if it was upper or lower, I think the lower one). I had exactly what you describe on my e92 and the mechanic diagnosed it straight away in the car park. Two new arms and that was sorted. They tend to replace the arms rather than the bushings though. Not sure if that is helpful or not...

Yes I can replicate it if i push down on the boot. Might be a trip to the dealers then!

Sounds very similar then. My car was about 7 years old at the time with about 60k on it. It was about 800 all in at the dealers, but they replaced both sides, but maybe worth an independent if you had one.

I would think it's most likely the spring perch. Top and bottom. Or the ARB bushes.

"Squeaky Rear End"- hahaha, sorry for my juvenile sense of humour but that's great (and obviously my commiserations too)

Ah - sorry, I didn't think of that. I'd have hoped they'd last longer than 2 years.

The only problem you may have with a warranty claim is they *might* get a bit awkward due to your ACS springs, if they think it's suspension related. Just depends on your dealer.

Especially in Norfolk, turning a tractor into a car is a criminal offence.

Just out of interest, have you tried pushing on the boot to replicate it with the car on level ground with the handbrake off?

Funnily enough, I've also run into the same issue today and have the exact same problem. Interested to see the outcome on this.
