I WANT A CATLESS DOWNPIPE WITH NO CEL...Options?!

I have a stock 335xi n55 ... I know its got a n55 engine built in South Africa in1 November 2013... I come from the corvette world so I don’t know much about this car but understand boost... i want a catless downpipe bigger FMIC, chargepipe, and intake but I don’t want to throw a cel... ive read that the jb4 doesn’t autoclear anymore... I would install everything myself and bring it so where to get tunes but I don’t know if bmws work like that... I would love to just plug in a jb4 and be done... but I just need to understand what my options are...

MHD (even easier than JB4)... one guy just said he passed in NY with it for OBD test... not sniffer test... but I've passed many cars back in the days just making sure the car was fully warmed up before taking it in for the sniffer test....

But from all that I read... better just to go with a catted pipe mostly due to smell.. either get fabspeed (guaranteed no cel) or wait for VRSF guaranteed no cel that's coming out in 3-4months for less than half the price of fabspeed so they say...

As mentioned get MHD and a catless DP. I have a jb4 (one with old firmware that does autoclear), but I removed it and went full MHD. Better option. Some people go with BM3. With the mhd flash you will not get a CEL. Emissions is another story and not sure about where you live.

I will tell you having been JB4 and now MHD--the flash is actually easier and smoother power. JB4 is not hard to hook up, but you still have to go through the process of hooking it up whereas the tune only takes a cord to the OBDII and your good to go. with that you do need an android device and cable and if you go with a couple maps and datalogging as I have you will spend around $500.

Thanks for the reply, the tune only sounds like a better option, i live in ri, even if i had to put stock down pipe in before emissions if i have the ability to flash back to stock... who sells mhd ?

You purchase it through the google play store--download the MHD app and then purchase licenses. You will need the cable--I bought mine from Twisted tuning.

Bootmod3 so you can be able to flash through iOS (iPhone), Android, MacOS or Windows dont be limited to 30-45mins+ Unlock and long map flashes.

BM3 has 30second map flash and 3mins unlock/flash/and Go

Best Customer Service & Support, I transferred my BM3 License to my M3 in the summer after being part of the N55 since Nov 2016

I want to wake this car up! I drive a c6 with 550 rwhp this car has a lot of potential you can feel how bogged down it is... i said it when i test drove it, this car needs to wake up

yes it removes the CEL warning from the dash and yes, you can have multiple tunes in the app

Yea BM3 OTS STG2 93 or E30 + DP + FMIC you will wake it up 100%

what map are you running on mhd?? how do you like it? any issues?

i still have the jb4 and iv just been too lazy to flash mhd

Get BM3 call it a day. Easiest flash out there IMO. You can change maps & clear codes in 30 seconds anywhere you want with an OBD agent you can make in 2 minutes for $50.

I bought bootmod3 and charge pipe fmic and catless downpipe... will be flashing 93 stage 2 once I receive and install everything. What do i need otherwise? New vband clamps? Plastic retainer clips for pipes for fmic? Anything that I would need for install would be a help?

V band clamp for sure. The current one will surely come off in rough shape.
