Icm flashing

Hi,
I've been trying to flash a used ICM for a Acc retrofit for the last month and it goes to 96% Boot loader then fails.
I have stripped my car back to its original state to stop the wrong software calculation, I know the istep of the new/used part so all good.
I have followed numerous guides with reading ecu's and calculating with HWID but the same issue persists.
I have the error log and flash log Im using esys 3.30.1 and my Pdzdata is 2018 to match my current istep.

could someone point me in the right direction of what im doing wrong.
The ICM is in program abort and blue in ista.

Would setting the build date to the used ICM’s hwel istep have any effect, I really need some help on this. Or is my ECU screwed

Take this FA and remove .txt extension run tal calculation with ilevel 12-11-505.
When you flash on place svt soll don`t put anything just skip it and turn off in esys settings update vcm and msm after tal calculation. If you are not sure how to i am tomorrow morning at home.Stil I think that you buy wrong part and will never work with your car. DSC and this ICM will not comunicate

Thanks I will check when home. So I load FA calculate with 2012 istep when flashing don’t put anything in svt sol. Then untick the two settings and flash.

Bingo thankyou so much. It’s out of programming abort and comunicating with Ista.
Just 60 odd errors I can’t shift. And the cafd for coding says I can only select a 2015 my car is on 2018 istep.
Says Icm coding data implausible. With that FA you supplied it’s coming up with the DSC to flash should I do that as well.
Again thanks for your time

Thanks again, So a quick question, is the coding data implausible means the ICM is not compatible with my car it was from a 2012 x3 fitting it to my f33 2014

Part 3452 6851286

On F30 between 0712-0713 was other ICM and DSC which both are not compatible with car after 0713. You can try but to vo code icm you need to use same vo what I give you. I think you will have error between icm dsc they will not communicate together

You have any idea what ICM part number is for use in pre-2013 F30s with BOTH M Adaptive Suspension as well as Active Cruise Control?

Realoem has never answered that with any certainty. I assume it’s because the ACC was not available on the MSport cars until USA MY 2014 (7/2013 cars).

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=34_1971

To further confuse it, this appears to be M Sport Suspension and ACC but stops at 12/2012

Part 3452 6851286
Your ICM from a x3 does not work in a F30-F36

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=34_1933

I do not even see the ICM you’ve listed in the x3 references, nor any indication they had ACC in these x3s🤷🏼‍♂️

Depending on your car options, this is what you need (#9)

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=34_2126

Click on the appropriate part number to see alternative part numbers.

Yes I have been confused with the part number. The car it came from was an European spec x3. Like you said there’s conflicting information on real oem as it says ICM high.
Looks like a different ICM I’ll be needing then

So confusing,
I have the DSC high 34516875560 to fit yet. So do you think it’s worth trying to pair the two, dsc and Icm together and then VO code

You have some of the most confusing parts, lol.

The only reference to a 34516875560 is in this eBay ad:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/203910906620

Even in the title the seller is incorrect stating it will fit 11/11-02/19 vehicles. HOWEVER, if your read further in the description it came out of a 2017 F30 VIN WBA8A76060NU07403 which means it’s perfect for you F33.

As noted previously, even if the x3 ICM worked in a F3x, the 2012-2013 up to 7/2023 ICM have different wiring than the 7/2013+ ICM so I do not believe you will ever get that earlier model ICM working.

Can you post pic of the label of the ICM and a pic of the connector on it as well?

Also, do you have M Adaptive Suspension or not?
