Question $2800 to spend: AKRA Exhaust or Pure Stage 1

I already have an Enzo tune and FBO, so for me, with a PWG (2012 F30) I'm leaning towards getting the Stage 1 turbo for 30-50 additional WHP. Stage 2 is out due to cost, no need for extra hp, etc.

I "only" have the M Performance exhaust, ER DP, so I would be "uncorking" some additional hp by going to larger diameter exhaust.

Assume labor time for exhaust is 2 hours / turbo would be 6 hours.
Retune for turbo at Enzo is 50% since I'm already tuned.

Thoughts?

Honestly though from some other threads on here the exhaust is really expensive. It's not a bad system but for that money I would rather have someone custom and super rad made. Just my 2¢ though. I am considering PS1 though. It's mad cheap. You can also look into Steam Turbochargers. They sit in the middle of PS1 and PS2 as far as price so that would shave some cost off of your price overall.

Spending almost $3k on a cat-back is madness. I spent a little over $1k on my Borla S-type and even that I thought was too much.

Go with the turbo. Save the rest for gas.

Then sounds like I need to check with Info@EnzoPerformance if they tune for stage 1 or steam turbo chargers?

Yea i think 3k for the akra isn't worth it. you should be happy with your MPE and DP combo? that combo is awesome, unless you're looking for that extra loud exhaust everyone on the street hates. I would do the turbo upgrade or maybe some suspension work if you haven't already.

I really like Remus's exhaust. Honestly that is my favorite aftermarket Catback for the F30. Sounds great and is valve controlled

Agree with what others say, bought the akra and now think the money would have been better spent elsewhere.

I'd leave it alone. Wait for the turbo to blow and then upgraded.

Get a spare set of wheels, put some R compound on, and spend some weekends at the local track. There's a little track where I lived called Laguna Seca and a lot of people go to. Best time ever. As long as you don't hit a wall it's a blast and it has this corkscrew thing. Totally awesome. You take a line and you can't see where you're going.

Sounds like turbo is the vote then!

And there's no way you can place on sexy exhausts

I love my Akra. Probably the mod I enjoy the most after Michelin PSS.

Turbo for sure!
Exhaust = just cosmetic a little sound no extra power = Nah

You can achieve a great sound with the Borla ATAK and lighter/cheaper/better in someways than MPE too..

And for whoever said M3 hahahaha and then he'll be suffering the famous "Spinning Crank Hub Issue" the F80 are suffering from stock or tuned.

Try a resonator delete and gut the exhaust, that may just do the trick.
If you're set on getting a different exhaust, I just installed a RPI GT and it sounds great. My advise would be to spend the money on other goodies.

So the guy is considering the nicest exhaust on the market and you're suggesting a hack job exhaust mod common on 15 year old rice rockets and muscle cars?

Seems a little wacky mate, an annoying drone and unrefined exhaust note are not worth the headache that would for sure ensue fro daily driving that.

I guess to each is own

I am straightpiped and I do not regret it at all. Sounds great! Mean with some growl and the snap crackle pop from up/down shifts are and drone is minimal.. it sounds in no way like a "rice rocket".

But like you said to each its own... $3k for sound or a few hundred
