Opening up MPE for Exhaust Mod

Ok, so before I get a bunch of crap for even asking this, has anyone ever seen the inside of the MPE for the F30 335? Is it similar to the Stock muffler? was thinking of Modding one for a buddy who wants obnoxious loud. The only reason I am even modding the muffler is because he, A: still wants the dual exits and B: is on a super tight budget so I am doing all the work myself for him. Post pics if you have them. Please and thank you.

Lol, i was just thinking about doing the same or the single exit. Still trying to figure out how im gonna do it. Either straight pipe or retro fit some type of single exit cat back that i can still take off and fit the stock exhaust.

Only reason I'm even asking is because I have a nice MPE sitting in my garage haha. I like tinkering with stuff

There was a thread on this sub forum where somebody opened up an exhaust, and modified it by removing some fluff and welding some holes. It was a quite a while back, but I do remember it.

From my understanding it was a stock exhaust, MPE is probably similar on the inside, but I may be wrong.

It's worth a look though.

That what I am thinking. I actually found the sub thread you speak of. I am wondering if the MPE has some of the perforated piping already removed and replaced with solid pipe. That would make my work so easy.

IDK, after hearing both of the exhausts, MPE and Modified, the modified one still sounded better IMO. This has me thinking that the MPE either has less fluff than the stock, or less perforation.

Hell, if you got the time it's worth a shot. Would be interesting to see what BMW actually did to make the MPE different.

I think this is what I am going to do. A buddy of ours donated an angle grinder to us so I'm going to get a cutting wheel and crack it open. Will post a new thread

I know what you mean. I had to do the Res delete to get it to sound even remotely different.

It kind of sucks... Spend 600 bucks for no change. When you open the MPE let us know if there is a difference... If so I don't mind spending 100 bucks for a muffler shop to do the same with mine

Hahah. I'll definitely make a new thread with my new findings and explorations. I'm hoping that some of the perforated piping is replaced with regular pipe

If you were in the Middle East, I would have gladly given you my MPE to open up, as I am getting an Armytrix exhaust. I also have the stock muffler sitting around. In the name of exploration!
