I think it's a good car, 630d GT is a cut priced 7 series nothing wrong in that, practical, lovely inside and much better to look at than before and the xdrive makes sense in this car as well.
Quite cool if you ask me.

I’m due to pick up a nicely specced 640i on Monday, trading in my x3 (35d).
Man maths has kicked in once again with only claiming 13p per mile when travelling for work in the x3 I’m actually losing money with diesel currently around £1.37 litre. The search started a few weeks ago for a 340i touring which evolved to a 440i gc but stupidly I spotted this 6gt at £35k and thought that for a car which listed at £68k new, it represented a good deal... I wouldn’t have wanted to have funded the £33k depreciation in the past 9 months since it was registered although I suspect it was a bmw uk ‘forced’ dealer demo with the options it has been graced with. Anyway with active adaptive cruise (drive assist plus) and the novelty of cameras all round (park assist plus) coupled with the engine I’m sure it will keep me amused for a few months until the itch to change kicks in again. |

It was between this car and one another identicle spec but with moonstone paint which is nice however it had white ivory leather which is not low maintenance enough for me. Will stick some pics up once I’ve collected |

@M2Andy trust you are pleased with your new motor? And have the camera poised?

The deal was too good to turn down, less money, less miles but 2 months newer so a slightly higher gmfv. Plus they’ve offered to deliver it saving me a 7hr round trip, throw in a boot liner and fill her up as part of the deal taking my X3 back. Delivery is on Friday, just in time for my week off next week |

Ivory looks a lot better at the cost of a bit of effort. Dr leather wipes are great if you don't have them or something similar already.

Here she is, a little bit dirty as I haven’t had time to clean yet.
I have to say I’ve bought lots of cars unseen but generally I knew what to expect. This was bought completely unseen at a distance but was even more risky as I’d never seen the 6gt in the flesh and was a little apprehensive however, when it was delivered I breathed a huge sigh of relief. Ok it’s not a supermodel in terms of looks but it’s certainly not as bad as people make out. In fact I’d go as far as to say that it’s quite elegant and has a lot of presence. Having had numerous 1, 2, 3, 4 series, x3 and x5’s I have to say the quality of the interior is on another level to all of these (albeit the x3 and x5 were not current generation). Too many gadgets to get to know but all part of the fun. The drive assist which steers in conjunction with the adaptive cruise control is a little unnerving and is going to take a lot of getting used to. I’m glad I went for the 40i rather than the 30d engine having come from multiple 35d engines as I think the sheer size of this would have blunted the performance, not that this is what this car is about. Anyway enough talking, I’m now off out for a drive to the coast |
