Mazda design

I'm loving Mazda's design at the moment. I think for the last 5 years or so they've produced some stunning cars. Certainly the only Japanese brand I'd consider at the moment. From the current 6 (especially as an estate) to the CX-5 to the MX-5 I think they've got a great range. I've never driven one but they seem to get good reviews for driving as well. Dare I say a Japanese BMW?

Let's hope this concept doesn't get too toned down for production.

Stunning design, shades of quiet a few different brands.
I would hope it would make it to production. Always best to see in the flesh, so to speak.

The 6 and MX-5 RF are exceptionally good looking IMHO. Especially in Soul Red metallic paint.

Cracking cars. I had an old 6 and was very well equipped look far better than passats etc and more powerful like for like.

It's a shame they stopped making the mps models for the 6, if they did I think they would sell well especially now with the move towards petrol.

Don't forget a lot of toning down is due to rules and regs that the manufacturer can do nothing about. As gorgeous as that concept is, if they want to sell it it will need wing mirrors of a prescribed size, it will need to be crash safe for pedestrians (so probably a bit less pointy at the front), doubtless other things too.

But yes that looks very nice and I do like Mazda's unconventional ethos.

Design of the concept looks good but it stinks of Aston Martin copying IMHO on the bodywork and Ferrari on the lights.

I like almost all of their designs too. The current 6 saloon in particular. They make Volkswagen look pretty dull.

My dad bought a new 3 Sport Nav in Soul Red a year ago. £21.5k list - £16.5k actual price. Pretty much exactly half the price of a bog standard 335d. Yet the spec includes xenons, nav, speed limit display, HUD, decent stereo, 18" alloys, reversing camera... i.e. lots of kit that I had to pay extra for despite buying a car at twice the price.

Even Audi with the S4/S5, which is a similar price to my car, include far more kit than BMW.

Ive always liked the Mazda looks...

Even the Mazda 5 MPV looked good - we bought a new 2007 model which was one of the best cars we've had.

Liked that car do much I've tracked it down and bought it back some 10 years later!

That Soul Red is a stunning colour.

The Sport Nav models really do come fully loaded.

My Mrs test drove one of those last weekend. Sport GT model, with pretty much every 'option' as standard. Despite all those extras it misses a few little items though. An arm rest is a £100 dealer fit option, as is ambient lighting for example ,yet it has HUD, lane departure, heated seats and steering wheel, keyless access, turning LEDs, nav, Bose etc as standard.
She wants to try an automatic but as an all round package they're great value.

Bought the wife one a few months ago, got it in August and she loves it. To be fair, it's fantastic value and the dealer managed to beat all online quotes after pushing.

I used to have the previous shape Mazda 6. Had all the toys I wanted on it bar Sat Nav, solid car and couldn't complain about it but it just lacked some soul.
Loved the look of the concept cars and the previous one that was mooted as the new 6 but it never made it to production. Its likely the concept in the original post will stay as a concept.
