what percent tint

hey guys,

what percent tint do you think looks the best on your car? I just got the 2015 335i msport and was going to tint the rear windows. thanks

Staggered tint looks worse than no tint at all, IMO. I think it looks terrible when the rear windows are tinted darker than the front, not to mention when the fronts are tinted at all.

I have a BSM f30 and have 18% all around - no problems with cops (#knockonwood). Planning to go darker actually.

how dark were you thinking? I hear like 22-25% looks nice

20% all around, looks very nice. and no problems with cops yet and I live in a city where you get pulled over for the absolute smallest things.

20% actually looks pretty dark, i feel like cops would be all over that if they are in a pissy mood. 35-40% looks pretty good and I would think maybe less risk

I did 30% all around. Didn't want to get hassled by cops and a darker tint looks more noticeable on a white car.

Not really off topic, but I'm leasing the car, if I put the tint on (not from the dealer), do I need to remove them before end of lease?

No, but you would end up paying them to remove it

They like a lot of aftermarket parts, but they are going to charge you (or deduct the trade in value) to return the car back to stock. Stealerships.

I wish my car didn't come tinted. It's too light, but I also can't justify paying to have it replaced. I have ~20%...but want 5%.

I went 5% just in the rears today. Wanted privacy and heat reduction in that order. While it looks dark from the outside, looking out front inside it's not as dark as it looks.

I have 20% all around and wish I would have went to 15 or 10 all around.

There is factory tint on the back windows so that's something to consider as well. It may be worth checking to see if they can do it a bit darker in the front.
