Somehow I've mistaken this color with the sandstone but then again I haven't seen the actual sandstone in person, only based on pics posted here...
But yeah, anyway, this orion silver is definitely my cup of tea

The pics here are much truer to the actual color of my car than my own photos are.

I think only a dark dark blue over cream looks more elegant on a car. For the last year I've been searching for a car I liked with a cream interior. None of the locations within 500 miles had any vehicles I liked, new or used, with cream/beige/tan leather. Everybody seems to want black -- and this, mind you, in one of the nastiest, hottest climates in America. (But then, people here willingly sit outdoors in heat that would stun a Cape buffalo, in order to dissect red-black insectoids containing a flake of meat smaller than your little fingernail. Nuts, all of 'em.)

This weekend I plan to get tint. With the black trim around the windows and the black tires, the gold should look even sharper.

It's true, my grand mother in China has a newer S-Class Merc in this color (they call it dune silver I think). Inside and out. I asked her why she picked the worst color, she actually got a bit defensive and said what are you talking about, it's nice !

In that second pic, the gold comes off as looking almost coppery!

In a sea of cars (not only BMWs) in silver, white, and black, the occasional bright blue, red, or gold paint job makes your car really stand out.

I like it. It looks silver sometimes at night. I’m glad only 3 of us got it here 😎
