428i x-drive MG M-Sport w/H&R springs and Vossen CVT

After giving up on Dinan releasing springs anytime soon for the 428 x-drive I decided to go with H&R springs. I do have DHP and the ride in comfort mode is just like stock but sport mode is just like any other dropped car for ride quality. The wheels are Vossen CVT 19" with 8.5"f e30 and 10"r et42.

428i x-drive
painted f/r reflectors
painted bimmerangs
painter outer surround m-performance grills
25% 3M tint
When the weather gets nicer I am taking the car out for a photo shoot.

Gorgeous! I have the same colour, and looking to do something very similar. In fact, was also looking at those wheels. How did you manage to get them in 19"? I thought they were only available in 20". Also, can you provide the tire sizes?

Vossen just released 19's and I got the first ones on a 4 series. Tires are 245/40 front and 275/35 rear. Vossen suggested a different size tire with a lower profile and width but I couldn't find any manufacture that made the same model front and rear for less than $400/tire. I am glad I didn't go with a lower profile as the current tires help fill in the wheel well.

Think the springs will settle any bit more? I ordered my H&R a few days ago and will have them on as soon as the shop can get me in. Car looks good, I was initially set on darker wheels but the lighter silver looks great

I think they will settle 1/4" or a tad more and hopefully not too much more as the tires don't rub right now. I was going to do gun metal but the way the MG switches color in different lighting made the gun metal wheels I saw in pics look really good i some lighting and not so good in other lighting.

Beautiful!

I like the slightly higher tire profile, helps to fill the wheel housings.

Looks good. So by lowering the car, you lost the advantages of having DHP?
I currently have a lowered e90 and am tired of the ride, decided to go with DHP when I get order my f32, but was hoping DHP would help with the ride if I decide to drop it.

DHP still works great. If you're going with x-drive then get DHP unless coil overs are released by then if you want to go that route instead. Right now in comfort mode the car feels very planted and the ride is great. It feels just like my e92 did with Eibach springs and Bilstein B8 sport shocks. In sport mode I do feel bumps a lot more. I mainly keep it in sport mode but in drivetrain mode. If you are not used to how a lowered car feels then you are not going to like lowering springs and having DHP in sport mode with drivetrain and suspension active.

I like the fact that there are Right side rims vs Left side rims...

Most often with this type of design, the wheel manufacturers dont bother with the reverse symmetry...

But i applaud Vossen on paying attention to this small but very much relevant details...

Personally i hate to see cars with wheels on one side with non-symmetric design, and the opposite side non-reversed.

Usually i like lighter shade rims as you have above, but would you have darker shades too?

Beautiful set up OP !

They are sport springs as that's all H&R offers for the x-drive.
