Window switch trim replacement

Hello,

Has anyone here replaced their window switch trim on their F30s? Just wanted to know if I need to remove the door panel or can I just pry it off?

Thanks!

PS: This is the part that I am referring to: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/51417289346/

Search youtube. I vaguely remember that you simply pry it off and pull off the plugs.

It lifts right out of the arm rest. I didn't replace mine, I added this, and most of the other 9 Moon offerings. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It is best to remove the door trim because there are 2 clips on both sides that push in. You can reach your fingers from the inside of the door panel to push them in while at the same time, prying up from the outside with a prying tool. After this, there is another clip towards the front that folds upwards and acts like a hook. You will have to bend this down carefully so it does not break. Then you can pry it up from the top front side and you should be able to wiggle it out.

Thanks for the details!

I replaced mine, had to remove the door panel. You can attempt to pry but will cause more damage in the end most likely.

Once off the trim is easy to replace.

No need to remove the door trim. The key is to use a thin plastic pry tool and place it in at the front of the switch panel and pry up.
Once it’s partially out, you can use your fingers to lift it out.

For the trim surround, you’ll need several thin blade screwdrivers to pry the clips. Start on one side and you may need to leave them in to keep the trim from snapping back in place when you do the other side.

Good thing is if you’re replacing the surround trim, you can easily just break the tabs and pry away.

I literally just did this swap this past weekend.
