What do you think of this current test map vs. the OTS stage 2+ map?

Whats the next step besides sparkplugs? Meth and turbo?
This is what the Virtual Dyno comparison looks like. Blue is the standard OTS map and red is the customized map.

VTT GC turbo on E30 would be nice

Here's another log from tonight. Experiencing some serious rev hang, can anyone please offer any insight on what to look for? Just a con of using a manual tranny?

so the OTS map produces better overall numbers...

I was thinking pure800 long term

4th gear from 2500 rpm to redline ( or 6500 rpm ) just press pedal to floor and hold on. No hesitations..just keep the fot to the floor

Sport+ only no pressing DTC etc. And go manual ...otherwise the car can downshift when you floor it.

You can also go to redline in 4th and do one shift to 5th and continue to redline.

Guys ! M140 costume tune with Dorch stage 2. One thing I wonder..Is it tuner who sets rail pressure ? Or he just "play" with timing and boost ?

My friends car, they hoping to go E50,now he running E38. Boost is crazy high and rail pressure is down to 2232 at one point. Stock turbo ! i was scared at 22 psi but this look strange..

Tuner can adjust target rail pressure, e.g. we've seen custom tunes here with 2600 PSI as the target.

Are you sure this is a Dorch Stage 2 HPFP? Mentions Spool in the file name in the log? This would be a walk in the park for a Dorch Stage 2

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Spool FX-150, they don't seem to flow as well as claimed, however, this may be just a tuning issue in the tables related to fuel supply solenoid timing.

The tune looks like it still needs some work, load required and load limits will be adjusted down, there's a torque limiter active from 3500 - 5000 RPM as actual load exceeds target and throttle closures assisting to reduce actual.

Overall it looks OK and should go pretty well

Should log target rail pressure too.

Hi everyone!

I'm going crazy with the timing pulls on my car. Tried all stage1 BM3 maps, but the car also does it with the stock tune... Less, but it's still pulling timing

It's an M140i, 45.000 miles on the clock, 93octane gas from reputable gas stations.

Stock tune: You can see there are already corrections in place... And also, isn't the stock map supposed to target much higher timing advance?

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5efd...0b4368f54bfd36 (sorry for the crappy log, forgot to stop the logging)

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5f06...729b451dd832b5

Corrections happen all over the rev range. I contacted BM3 and they told me it's bad gas, but I've filled up several times, every time in the biggest brand-name gas stations in Spain, so I find it a little hard to believe. This is compounded by the fact that that stock map also has low timing targets and even then it's still getting pulled...

I'm thinking spark plugs next (they should have around 15.000 miles on them, so it shouldn't be time to replace them yet) but after reading through the first 20 pages of this thread or so, it appears that they help somewhat with the timing pulls but I'm not sure they're gonna fix the MASSIVE correction that's happening here.

At first I though it was the scorching temperatures we're having in Madrid at the moment, close to 39ºC (more than 100ºf), so I started taking the logs at night when they are closer to 25ºC (77ºf) and it did improve somewhat, but it certainly didn't go away...

What else could it be? I'm starting to run out of ideas, and getting desperate...

Thanks!

It seems okayish with the stock tune, but it doesn't seem to pull quite as hard as a friend's brand new M140i. It feels pretty smooth, but not as smooth as it should be almost certainly due to the timing corrections.

BM3 maps all feel marginally faster, but they ran 10.5second 100-200 pulls and they should be down in the 9.5second range, so VERY down on power.

Considering that each degree the timing is retarded costs around 10-15bhp, it's no surprise...

I also think it's low octane fuel. The stock results look about right, getting up to 15 degrees timing up top.

Do you have access to E85/ethanol? If so, add some ethanol to your fuel and re-test the Stage 1 91 tune and see if it makes it better.

Unfortunately not... E15 max here in Spain. I've looked into buying pure ethanol but mixing that down to even e50 is a very expensive proposition... Cheapest I've found is around 3€/l

Perhaps 95oct fuel has spent less time in the station's tanks and is this fresher... I might try a tank of 95 with both stock and 95oct stg1 maps

New logs are up for rev 1.7.

https://datazap.me/u/tnilson/pure800...og=0&data=4-22

From my very basic understanding it looks like he's pretty much solved the boost overshoot/wobbly boost. Timing corrections are basically non-existent or at very low boost/rpm. Timing is hitting 16 by 6K rpm.

I asked him a few other questions about what other things he's looking at and what his objective is for the next couple of revs. I'll let you know what I hear back.

I know, I'm in So cal in the high desert and it's like 100 outside. I also let the car idle for a little while I was in a store to make sure it was all the way up to operating temp. Did that affect the log a lot?

Me after hard pulls can see in real time how the IATs is going down when i start driving easy, if you stay in one place cant cool down that fast from my experience. The best option for cool down is just cruise around with around 60mph after hard pull

Me after hard pulls can see in real time how the IATs is going down when i start driving easy, if you stay in one place cant cool down that fast from my experience. The best option for cool down is just cruise around with around 60mph after hard pull
Ya I'll do that, can you tell anything from the log otherwise?
