Back after years

Saw this thread after checking the forums, haven't been here in a while. This is an older pic before I sold the car, can't find any older ones but I will look. So do not judge the crappy quality/edit

Nice. I like the angle. Might go out today to take some more pics if the weather holds up.

Do you guys ever have chromatic aberration problems? I did a little downtown fall shoot today and the chromatic aberration in the headlights is AWFUL, and unfortunately Luminar 3 doesn't have a feature to fix it :/

A few i took the other day with the 50mm, again with the chromatic aberrations. Will try adjusting my aperture to fix that next time.

Do you take multiple pics of the same angle? Try doing that. It seems that youre shaking which i noticed gave me the chromatic aberration thing youre talking about. I usually take like 8-10 pics for one angle and then move on. Yesterday i shot over 400 pics and end up keeping about 80 of them (was shooting my bros car and i still kept a few repeats before i decided which ones were the final versions for me).

You’d be surprised how many pics may look good in the preview but then blown up on a monitor you’ll notice the blur and that chromatic thing

I just picked one of these up for my Sony a7ii. Here's a few different shots from today's first effort.

Does your camera have something called "zebra mode"? Or something similar? On my camera, if it is enabled, it shows this moving striped area over anything that may be over illuminated, so you can adjust the aperture or iso.

Im not sure ill have to look into it. I just use a little Nikon D3400 so it doesn't have too many features

I have a D3300. Are you shooting in manual mode? I highly recommend that you do if youre not. I usually put my settings, switch over to live view to get a preview and then get off live view and start taking a bunch of pics

Yes I do shoot in manual mode. Im still relatively new to it so I'll just have to figure out how to adjust my settings better for different settings

Here are just a couple random shots I found of my old car! All taken with the "nifty fifty" on a D610. Should have my new 340i shortly and I'm excited to get back into shooting. Keep it up!

Does anyone use CPLs? Seems like some of these photos would benefit from using CPL to enhance the features.

I do occasionally, but I'm not really sure why I only use it occasionally

I have one now but I've been shooting with an 85mm lens so It's not appropriate for this thread anymore.

I have done in the past, it'd good to reduce some haze from the sun especially on reflective surfaces. I've not got a 50mm, as I opted for 35mm (Nikon) and a 90mm (Tamron for Nikon) primes.

Been using them for years and imo it really is a must-have for any car that isn't matte. Only time I take it off is when I'm in a wide open environment with clean/smooth reflections of the horizon (usually at sunrise/sunset).
