*** bootmod3 for BMW B58 - Now Available ***

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
bootmod3 closed beta for the B58 engines has been a great success and we're excited to announce the wait is finally over!

Our team has worked tirelessly on BMW B58 engine support adding support for all of bootmod3 features while programming the DME without removal from engine bay. Initial flash time that includes unlocking the DME is around 3 minutes and switching maps takes just 19 seconds using the standard ENET-OBD cable.

Licenses can be purchased by clicking on the link provided below:

https://www.protuningfreaks.com/coll...0i-m140i-m340i

B58 FEATURES INCLUDED WITH PURCHASE TODAY

- Exhaust Burble adjustment
- Cold Start (cat heating) disable
- Exhaust Flap adjustment
- Speed Limiter (VMAX) Removal
- Catalytic Monitors (CEL) on/off
- End User Map configuration for all maps
- Tuning Editor fur custom tuning
- Datalogging hundreds of data channels available and many more to come

Stage 1 91 octane: up to 18% HP / 26% TQ
Stage 1 93 octane: up to 20% HP / 26% TQ
Stage 2 91 octane: up to 24% HP / 32% TQ
Stage 2 93 octane: up to 26% HP / 32% TQ

Stage 2 AGG (Aggressive burble) versions of maps available
E30 and Race gas maps are on the way!

Current released OTS Maps make their peak power at just around 16-16.5psi so lots more to follow with higher octane OTS but also custom tuned maps by bootmod3 tuners.

With some B58s and bootmod3 custom tunes pushing B58s past 700whp already it'll be really fun to see where the platform takes us!

Awesome. I purchased and can't wait to flash when I get home.

I'm still on the fence on picking the stage 1 flash or going catless and picking stage 2. Is it that noticeable of a difference from stage 1 with stock hardware? Mainly I'm eager to flash now and not sure I want to deal with the smell either.

There is approx 1.4 psi difference between the stage 1 and 2. Ofcourse the catless option also adds power

Nice! Thank's y'all!

Since I'm new to the flashing world (sorry if this has been answered before), for those of us with MPPSK, when we do the unlock/flash and we need to flash back to stock for dealer visits, what happens? Will it flash back to the MPPSK tune or back to the original stock tune?

Also, any negatives to running Stage 2 with the stock cat and MPPSK exhaust?

Bootmod3 compiles a stock map based on what is in your car, so basically your stock is MPPSK And whenever you flash to stock and lock, you're back on the MPPSK!

For stage 2 we recommend having a highflow downpipe. You can flash it and provide logs on a ticket, we can review it for you

Thanks. Also curious if any 6MT beta testers had to upgrade clutches, or did the stock clutch hold the power fine?

No need to upgrade clutches, BM3 OTS doesn't push your car over the limit

Stock car and stock exhaust should use STG1
Not recommended to go Max Burbles as well if you care about your turbos, but if you don't go ahead and the melt cat away

Given the 3 minute DME Unlock time, is there no longer a 'recommendation' to have your battery hooked to a tender during the unlock?

@proTUNING Freaks if someone is coming from another ECU/TCU tune, what would they need to do in order to load BM3 tunes?

If a DME is previously "unlocked", what's the protocol?

Is the DME Unlock + Initial flash just as fast using the Wifi Agent? Or would you recommend using the standard ENet Cable and a computer for the initial unlock?

Which plugs/gap are recommended for Stage 1 93 octane file? Are stock plugs/gap ok or is there a need for new plugs and/or gap?

A good 20-30min drive to juice the battery up if climate is not under 30F should be good if the car is daily driven.

proTUNING Freaks

Will this change the sport display HP /TQ values?
are your dyno graphs displayed WHP or @ flywheel?
Can you clarify the peak boost pressure between stages? 16.5 max stage 2 seems low (a good thing!!!!)

Question to understand the different tune options:

Is the main difference between stage1 and 2 maps the boost?
And is the main difference between 91 and 93 octane maps the timing?

Would I notice any difference at all using Stage 1 with a different Intake, or is the stock intake recommended?

Stage 2 maps have CEL off for downpipe, coldstart removed on default as well.

Boost on stage 1 and 2 is different, together with a different boost control to address the backpressure difference. 91 and 93 octane maps have a difference in ignition advance.

Thank you.

I realize this might be slightly off topic for this thread(?), will there be a separate thread for B48 perhaps? Anyway:

I assume this will be roughly similar on B48. Will downpipe be the only recommended mod for Stage2 on B48 as well? I'm running a 200cpi high flow cat, will that be fine for the Stage 2 map?
