Experience New Jersey's Main Attraction: Potholes!

Here was the damage of me being unable to miss a pothole at 30 mph. God I miss Florida's smooth roads....

Noo Awlins, aka Da Swamp, does not have potholes in quite the same way. Everybody here calls them that, but they are more often poorly-surfaced roads with sections that sink, or plates of concrete that crack and rear up into the air like geological fault blocks. Nor do local engineers understand the concept of grinding down the "repair," so you go from driving through a trench to driving over a mini-speed bump. Like you, I miss smooth roads, in my case in Colorado.

I hope insurance can cover that?

Holy shit! That's bad. I dodge these roads every single day, but on occasion I do hit one of them. Glad nothing like that has happened to my car. I do miss the butter smooth roads of New Mexico, Colorado and Florida! Heck, even WI had much better roads despite all the snow/ice.

I used to complain about Virginia's roads until I moved to New England.

The worst road in New Hampshire is better than the best road in New York City. There are potholes in New York that have attained landmark status.

Welcome to New Jersey! Have a tomato and you'll forget about how angry the potholes make you

Pro-tip after driving in NJ on ultra low-profile tires for a few years: if you're traveling on roads you don't regularly travel (i.e. know where the potholes are), ask if someone else can drive. I know the potholes on my regularly travelled routes, so I don't worry that much, but if I'm going somewhere I've never been, I either ask someone else to drive, or if that's not an option, drive very slowly and keep a huge following distance so you can actually see the potholes and dodge them.

I do think we win in Michigan....the only state to my knowledge where the one, single, political slogan of the winning governor was "Fix the Damn Roads".

Truth!

I hate that this happened to you. Check back and let us know the shape of your suspension.

I have driven in many different states and no state compares to my home state of North Carolina. They are by far the best roads. Not only quality, but curves too!

Haha this happened to me, right over there about a month ago.
Driver rear tire ripped up, when I got out I noticed a massive bubble on the other tire. Got stuck in 78 and had to be towed.
