Haha you all have me laughing , it really was low speed. Take a look at the attached, headlights still functioning and everything. It was the high curb that did me in.

I crashed my 2009 VW EOS. The car only had a trade in value of about $5,000. Wrecked the car on Sunday. StateFarm arraigned the tow. By Monday night I knew it was totaled. By Wednesday, they had paid off the loan. By Friday i had a check for the difference. Your experience may vary. It took 9 months to get my deductible back. The other person was at fault. Replacement value was about $9,000. The tow truck was there before the police.

I don't know, if none of the heat exchangers were damaged, you might not be totaled. Although, based on the age of your car and the mileage, it probably will be. Also, even though the headlights function one or both might still need to be replaced.

On the other hand, it looks like the only major panels that were damaged are the bumper, the right side fender and the right side rocker panel. Obviously the front right wheel is gone, but assuming you're RWD, that might just require some new suspension and steering components. That's best case though.

If you need a new steering rack or had any kind of structural damage, it'd cost significantly more. I'd ballpark your car costs about $20k (give or take) so it'd be definitely possible to hit 70% of that in repair costs.

Yeah, getting into an accident with an older car can really actually be a good thing, as long as you're not at fault. You basically got top dollar value for your car and you get to buy a new one.

That pic doesn't tell much more than that someone will still buy that bumper cover used.
A 14 4cyl rwd 4 series is not worth very much on paper. Maybe your insurance contract approves used parts at their discretion. You have suspension damage and body damage.

That car is not worth 20k in March 2019 with 63k.

It's probably not too far off. But yeah, might be a couple thousand less but I can't imagine it'll be anywhere near as low as $15k.

Yeah I think KBB said 15k for trade which of course is way higher than the wholesale number USAA will use I'm sure.

"Under 20k" is definitely the neighborhood, 15k is low. Big value swing for options , history, geographical area, e.t.c. you're right on

Well... USAA totaled it, suspension damage, frame damage, body damage, all four wheels and tires would need to be replaced. They valued the car at about 18k.

Honestly not too sure, I'm thinking C300 coupe, A5 coupe, or maybe and X5 (2017/18)

Lol. There is no way you were only going 20-25mph to end up with the car that high on a bank. There's not enough energy at those low speeds if you're braking 100%.
