dash cam - suggestions

i cant believe this is going to be my first thread....

im walking to my car this morning, someone vandalized it.

broke the front passenger window.

i m left with many questions. Not that a dash cam would have stopped it but atleast i can see who did it.

Any suggestions on front/rear, most important something that records when its parked.

thank you.

im actually leaning towards the thinkware F800 Pro ...

blackvue is a little too expensive and i dont care for 4k, i need something that ideal for a parked car.

edit: i might actually go for the blackvue, i can remotely access the camerea, thinkware doesnt have this function, but im not sure how useful or even if its necessary

I use BlackVue DR750S-2CH. Very satisfied. This model doesn't support 4K but I did not need it.

my choices are this or thinkware F800 pro, i too do not care for 4k.

my primary objective is "parked" protection.

did you hardwire it or buy a neo cellpack?

360 degree view and it can be hardwired to a constant hot and switched hot in your fuse box or buy a obd2 connector and just plug it in the port

Garage List
2015 BMW 335i  [0.00]
My son has just had a Blackvue, front 4K and rear 1080p installed, cost just over £500. From what I’ve seen in the dark the rear 1080p cam has a better performance than the the front 4K. He didn’t have a battery pack installed and it captures when parked for around 24 hours before it switches off due to low car battery.

I like the Owlcam's mounting position and the cord plugs into the car's OBD2 port for a clean and simple install. You can tap the screen to record a video and it goes straight to your phone.

Only draw back is that you can't really access the videos without Wifi and it is pricey.

#1 rated for parked cars.. front and rear. cameras.. was also my #1 objective.

#2 reputable company and great reviews

#3 its design (not very bulky although this may not be important to many ppl)

the downside is the cost.

im getting the neo battery pack which alone is about 320+the cost of the camera+128(upgraded) SD card.

in total im looking at $700+(with tax). An investment and hopefully one that deters ppl.

the other "issue" im facing now and i guess this will apply to ALL dash cameras, what happens if they steal the damn dash cam. LOL

although nothing was stolen from my car, not like anything in there was worth stealing, i keep my car very clean and empty...BUT not even loose change (quarters) was taken.

hope this helps.

"without wifi"

isnt that the case with all these cameras even the blackvue?

how are we suppose to supply wifi to any of these cameras? LOL

does this require me to get a personal hotspot for the car 24/7? so thats another expense!

I have a Blackvue DR750-2CH with two B-124 battery packs and a 256gb card. The two batteries have 48-52hrs of record time
