This design won't sell well and they will change it. Remember Acura's giant tooth grill? They changed that quickly. Or Mazda's giant smile front end? Another flop....

I always wonder why people say things like this. Who cares? Certainly not BMW as sales have been good this year outselling MB in September. In the consumer world you don't really matter as an individual as there's always a lineup of people that will take your place purchasing the product. Your NO vote isn't hurting BMW.

You actually have to wait till the large grill design cars are available, at that point then compare sales numbers. The current sales numbers are not even relevant to what he's saying.

Adrian is a complete ass. But even more worrying is that the entire board of directors believes his crap!

Just saw the Topgear review of the M135i and Ollie Kew hits the nail when he states "The ugliest hot hatch of all time. It's hideous, but then almost all BMWs are these days".

There is also the Camaro redesign that happened less than a year into the new model. If I remember correctly it also had a horrid, cavernous maw.

I think it looks pretty good. I guess I'm in the minority. But I like progressive design and felt BMWs we're getting a little stale. This is a nice jolt of excitement. Then again I liked the bangle butt, love the e60 M5, and drive an M coupe. So maybe I'm biased. Need to see it in person on the new 4 series to get a proper look. Photos can be deceiving.

Let me unpack this for you bud. What you have is a text book "straw man" argument.

A straw man is a form of argument and an informal fallacy based on giving the impression of refuting an opponent's argument, while actually refuting an argument that was not presented by that opponent.

I stated 2 facts.

1. Consumers will vote with their wallets. This is an undisputed fact. Some will buy the car and some won't.

2. I will not.

Your straw man argument states that I believe BMW cares what I do and that I matter as an individual.

It may turn out that new Frankengrille will be a sales hit. It may not. I simply stated that I will not buy the car. I did it on a car forum under a relevant topic.
Rant over.
If you don't believe that bmw cares about your opinion, then why proclaim your intentions on a public forum?
Where else am I going to say it? At Target?

Right on- huge kidney's aren't attractive . Look at the svelt design of the 90s cars. The 528 was beautiful. Same with the 740 and 328. Z3 was rad. They were minimalistic and the elements stood out

I agree. There is nothing stimulating in BMW dealerships right now aside from the current F8X and M2/C (...and I still don't care much for the M2's fangs or rear bumper design, but overall the car looks pretty decent). BMW needed this jolt.

Well that's true but you must not live in USA. We don't have that option
I actually do.

Just not in one of the extremely uptight states.

If I had to run one, if get one of the tow hook mount plate holders.

I also find that when I do get pulled over, the nicer I am, the nicer they are in return.
His question is actually important. Pretty much every US vehicle is designed with rear AND FRONT license plates in mind. Whether you want to install one or not, that's up to you. But legally, you must mount a front license plate on your vehicle (depending on state registered in) and using the front tow hook or on the dash in the front windshield is not really a solution the average customer would approve of.
Then like an Audi, dead in the middle is the only option the way I see it.
That's what I was also thinking, but then it would need to be shaped for it (outlined). Once its released it'll reveal more. It just doesn't look too good, but I hope I'm wrong.
