Apple play options?

I have a 15' 335i, production date 14/10/21

I wanted to get Apple play, but was wondering is the only way by upgrading the whole unit to the new one, or is there a way to code it in?

No way to code it in, you have 3 choices:

NBT Evo retrofit
Android screen
MMI box

Please do a forum search. The topic of adding CarPlay has been discussed and beaten to death hundreds of times already over the past few years.

I agree that this topic could indeed be a dead horse.
What I notice is there are memory issues with an add on box, and it seems the more elegant solution of just getting an I6 or 7 is the proper solution short of a trade in. The down side to an OEM like I6 or 7 is the cost. Personally I may end up with an OEM some day soon.
My 2 cents worth.
