Staggered Rims xdrive
greetings all.
Hello all, I am in desperate need of knowledge/info. I have a 335 GT xdrive, i have bought the e90 M wheels to replace the stock rims not knowing about staggered rims going to mess up transfer case. wheel specs 19x9.5 for front, and 19x8.5 for the rear anyway, i am trying to figure out what size tires i can fit my wheels. i am currently running 245/35/19 for the front, and 265/35/19 for the rear. Can i just switch out the rear to a different tire size? if so what can i get? please and thanks in advance! |

19 x 9.5 front and 19 x 8.5 rear doesn’t make sense. Exactly what style of wheels did you buy? Staggered wheels in and of themselves don’t cause a problem with xDrive. The tires need to be the right size. It’s unlikely you can just swap the rear tires.

Hello, I purchased the E90, E93 M3 220 Style Rims. I am looking for the right tire size combo I can swap out the current ones on it now.

rim style 220 has ET29 front, which is a bit low and ET23 rear, which is a LOT low, will poke a lot and not really good for an F34.
the tire size combo i suggest for your F34 xdrive with those offsets is 225/45/19(27.1") front, 255/40/19(27.0") rear. this is primarily to minimize the amount of poke you're going to have at the rear. 245/40/19(26.7")+275/35/19(26.6") rear is another option however there will be a decent amount of outside tire tread poking. not sure if you care about handling but fwiw, there is understeer associated with a 30mm front/rear tire width stagger. ET23 at the rear will cause even more(understeer). |

OEM staggered set-up on GT (like I have), with the tires as 1st option recommended to you by @alohasurftoad: Front: 19 x 8, +30, 225/45/19 Rear: 19 x 9, +42, 255/40/19 However, I run with spacers on my GT, 10/12 mm. That makes the actual offsets to be: Front: +20 Rear: +30 It is possible to use staggered E90 rims on F cars, I've done that on wife's F30 with 225Ms: Front: 19 x 8, +37 (original offset) Rear: 19 x 9, +39 (original offset) I've had rears offset modified to be +47 by having the landings on the wheel hubs machined (8 mm of material removal). There are places that can do similar alteration to the 220s to your likings. I would leave fronts as-is and have rears machined to bring them inwards to minimiza the poke. In any case, I'd try mounting the rims first and only then make a decision to have the rears altered and by how much. That's how modified 225s look at the rear of F30 mounted:

Even if you manage the offset adjustment, keep in mind that tires will be ever so slightly stretched (the 255 section). Also, if you plan/have the car to be aggressively dropped, you could have rubbing issues. GTs came with staggered set-up in M Spec package from factory (and I love the look of mine with spacers), it's just you happened to choose the rims with significant offset difference when compared to OEM fitment.

Would help if you listed the full specs for your set-up: tires (width/side wall and offsets on the rims (front and rear).
Your ride height looks different... I have much smaller wheel arch gaps than yours while riding on 19" OEM staggered rims. What kind of suspension do you have? I can see XDrive batch on the back... So either Xdrive or Adaptive XDrive, right?
