The Star on Chatsworth Road was my drinking hole. Never strayed in to the Brad. Did wonder how they got planning permission for the flats on the site but I guess when your name is Steve Perez you get favours.... Did stray into Hunloke Arms and The Peacock and Gate from time to time.... |

Taken last month, a view of River Lossie estuary and Lossiemouth East Beach.
Taken approx. 15 minutes after sunset, looking due East ! Not always the most colourful part of the sky at sunset, but on this day it was amazing.

I'm lucky to live in a beautiful part of the world, with such lovely big skies and the time to get out and take the piccies.

You make a good point about time, which is easily overlooked when starting out as a hobbyist photographer. Not just having chunks of time available but having the freedom to go out at the right time. It's pretty easy to be in a great location, not too hard to find a clear day, but often bloody difficult to be there for the best light. I once spent an hour or so on the shores of Loch Fyne photographing Inverary in the October dawn - the play of sunlight through the lifting mist was changing the scene every minute and the resulting photos differed greatly. Rarely do I have the time in the right location to experiment like that. Time and the patience to capture the best light make a huge difference. Brilliant picture all the same

Some lovely photos here guys, I have enjoyed looking at them
Just had a few of our favourites printed for the walls at home, I'm in the process of framing and mounting them myself at 40cm x 50cm. Still to bevel the edges at 45 degrees but a rough idea of the finished article Oxfordshire The paper I used was a silver pearl fine art paper and it has a beautiful lustrous semi-gloss sheen which gives a real depth to the picture and is probably the closest finish you can get to old movie celluloid. These are the ones we chose (well these are actually the a4 proofs of the real thing in the above shots) Middle left : Paris Middle right: Leysin for my Mrs 40th Bottom left: Tokyo for my 40th birthday Bottom right: Grindelwald Got a Tokyo panorama shot being mounted onto closed board foam so I can put it straight on the wall, but thats a project still in progress.. |

Thanks very much, very kind! The process really isn't tricky just time consuming. Buy the framne first or decide what dimensions you want to work to. You need a big sheet of mountboard card (10 sheets from amazon for like £25), then either a stanley knife & metal rule, cutting board and a lot of patience or invest in a cutter system such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/60-cm-Ruler.../dp/B003GDX636 with a cutter to mount on it (either 90 degree or 45 degree bevelled cuts)

The Gate up above Cutthorpe does the best chips! To keep the thread on track, here's a pic taken on the road just above the Gate. Apologies for my old car being in it, I know it's not a BM. |
