Stability fixes, works smoothly etc., don't see a reasons not to update.
But be sure that you have Carlinkit B1 version! Also it it worth to update MCU - MCU 20.10.22.16 works like a charm.

I'm going to give it another go after work today. Now I have more time I might try the 'disconnect power from MMI box' approach too. My F31 seems to take forever to power down completely. Even tried asking my son to alarm the car whilst I was in it

I have been updating using the Andream NBT updates until now without any issues. I have to admit I'm waiting for the dreaded post - "you shouldn't have used the Andream B2-Version MCU..."

I found this earlier thread regarding a 'recovery file' method. No idea if it's applicable to ISPBOOOT.BIN or not.

Yes I did try that process and successfully installed Gemini update files,(i've tried several) but it has no impact on screen. CarPlay continued to work across the various firmware files. Is there a way for force install an MCU file. According to first page only one MCU 20.10.22.16 is available to upgrade on EW-BMCP-NBT02B Andream B units. Are there others possibly not listed?

Got MCU update from Carlinkit seller, he is convinced that it is ok for my B1 hardware box:
Filename: N3MCU_G.bin
Foldername: GD-ENB--MCU--20210913
Date: 13.09.2021

Have anyone installed this one for B1 hardware?

Hate to be lazy, but its hard to go check through the 480+ pages of comments here, but just a few questions.

Does the steering wheel scroll wheel work to change songs like it does with the OEM BT connection?

And how is the sound of the MMI Aux compared to the OEM BT, seen a lot of conflicting opinions.

How important are the firmware updates? They look like quite the pain to find out what version is needed.

With every iOS update my BT connection keeps getting more and more unreliable, considering buying one of these to bypass it.

No, because it is using AUX the car doesn't know anything about what is playing. However, the < and > buttons for the CD player will.

Seems perfectly fine to me. I did play with the equalizer and the volume levels a tiny bit, but nothing fanatical.

I am of the opinion that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Having said that, it isn't difficult to upgrade the firmware, once you figure out what box you have. I'm assuming the vendor you buy it from would help you there.

Hi. I think you have a ewm-bmcp-nbt04x. Same as the one I bought from droiduk. It was written on the side of the cardboard box the unit came in if you still have that. The version of cust is newer than what I have (B2_V1.6.6_n). I’ve not seen a newer version than yours.

I want to say that you have an Andream A unit... The only thing that bugs me is the "b2" at the end of your original screenshot...

navid0308 posted that the MCU can be forced flashed like the ISPBOOOT.BIN file. I tried it but no joy. Been busy will give it all another go later today.

I’ve just this week installed a DroidUK MMI box too and it has the same customer version as the photo you quoted.

I’ve just messaged them to find out if there are any updates for the unit. If I get any links I’ll share them on here for you.
