Post Remove horn sound when closing car

Since I have updated the software of the car, when I close it is started, it gives two beeps of horn, which it did not before.

I would like to remove it, since it draws quite the attention and I would like it to happen more unnoticed, maximum when I am leaving it with the engine in marcga.

Do you know how to remove this?

Thanks and regards.

That should be in your iDrive settings, it should not require coding.

Thanks for your help.

In the Idrive I have never seen that configuration, my car has no alarm, what sounds in my case is the horn or horn and only when I close the car with the engine started, with the vehicle stationary does not sound either to open or close .

Greetings.

Search for CLM_HORN_AT_SECURE in FEM and set it to nicht_aktiv.

I assume you mean with the fob out of the car. If so that indicates that the new software wants to remind you that you left the car running, just in case you forgot. At my age that wouldn't be a bad thing. I can imagine leaving the car running while playing 18 holes of golf, returning to find an empty gas tank.

Obviously I imagine it will be for that, but if I do it intentionally, I prefer not to touch the horn and that all the people around it will turn around and see that I get out of the vehicle leaving the engine running.

Thank you very much for the code, I try it and I comment ...

To see if I also find how to put back the 5 flashes of flashing and I leave the car as I had.

A greeting.

Ive locked my car with the engine running once, it makes no sound. It makes the chirp sound to indicate locking when doing so with the engine off. It does not use the horn. The only time it uses the horn remotely is via the app, which may be helpful if you forgot where you parked, in addition to the flashing lights feature via the app. Both these are useful if the car is out of range of the keyfob. Is there a way to have it use the horn when locking with the keyfob with the engine off?

Neither does mine, but the OP could have either newer software or different software being in Europe.

Mine doesn't do that, which I don't mind. When I lock it the radio turns off, so I still have an audible confirmation that it's locked.

I think so. As I recall when I took delivery my SA asked if I wanted the horn to beep when locking and unlocking the car. I said no, he turned it off, and I know he didn't code it, so it must be in the settings menu, at least for my software version.

I remember that both the e46 and the e90 could be made to sound the horn when opening and closing the car, had to add as an equipment the alarm (even if it did not) and then the horns could be activated ...

My MY 2016 340i has alarm as standard, but does not utilize the horn even when the alarm goes off. It uses the chime that's used for lock and unlock but sounds it as a siren. Not as loud as the horn, which I would prefer. I can sound the horn remotely with the app.

I think you could also play the sound level, it should come with different levels depending on the country's regulations.

By memory in that I can no longer help you, but it is possible that it can also be modified in the F30

My 2017 F31 with iDrive 5 sounds the horn twice if I lock the car with the engine running.

With my previous 2015 F31 with iDrive4 the horn didn't sound if I locked the car with the engine running.

I have already been able to test the coding and indeed, the horn has been canceled.

Thanks again for your input and a greeting.

Excellent info. Thanks!

Mine has the standard alarm activate/deactivate audio when locking/unlocking with the engine off, but like the OP, it sounds the horn twice when locking with the engine running.

This will be a welcome change. I wouldn't mind if it was the alarm activate audio, but the horn is irritating and loud.

Thanks again!

The line provided by the colleague is correct: Search for CLM_HORN_AT_SECURE in FEM and set it to nicht_aktiv.

I'm glad it was helpful.
