330e Tuning
Hello
I realise its not the most common car on the forum but has anyone had the 330e remapped or done via the tuning box method? Seen as the engine is the B48 it should be possible assuming it should have any effect on the electric engine/motor? Ive seen a few around such as:- https://www.racechip.co.uk/shop/bmw/...5kw-290nm.html http://www.venturatuning.nl/chiptuni...2-pk-phev.html Thanks in advance |

Interesting, most likely my next car will be a high performance hybrid if you like.
Its just the 320i lump? - that tunes well to begin with. Apparently with the Telsa etc a simple firmware flash can yield more power out of the electric motors - not surprising really. I surmise looking at this and 320i figures they are similar. I know tengocity is interested in getting a full 1.3l diesel hybrid. Last edited by Ajs_435d; 12-07-2016 at 03:57 PM.. |

I wondered how long it would be till somebody came out with this, as there were plenty of options for the 320i
I've no problem with modding my own car, but my 330e is a company car, and I'm pretty sure that if I modded it, it would be gross misconduct! Seems a bit unnecessary too given I can just use the 335d whenever I like instead, and have a Boxster for the weekend. However in future I may opt back out and run my own work car again and would consider the 530e and would happily do this then. If these are easy to fit and remove, presumably if you did have an issue then they could never know for sure that you used tuning box?

So, as per my previous post, if the box is easily removed then there is no reason to think you'll lose your warranty. Would be good to know how extra petrol power would potentially interfere with how well the drivetrain works - it's very smooth and well calibrated, so I wonder if boosting the engine would take some of that away.

I enquired with DMS about remapping my N20 320i and they quoted figures of 275 bhp and 309 ft lbs. I think if I went with them I'd stick to the figures quoted on the website that match the 328i for power.
I'd imagine the gains on the 330e would be just as impressive. |

I dont claim to be an eco-warrior its mainly tax! Dont get me wrong I will charge at all possibilities to ensure i use as much electric range as possible, but the main appeal was loading a car with pretty much everything and the BIK rate the 330e falls into. I dont intend to look at this once arrived more curiosity as it could have the potential to pack a decent punch with a tuning box and the electric boost just wondered if anyone had any experience/thoughts |
