Cleaning the iDrive display Pro Nav

What are you guys using to clean the display? Is it glass or plastic?

The garage didn't do a great job of prepping the car as it had smears on the display, water spots inside on gloss finisher etc. noticed cobwebs on the door mirrors too!

It'll get much love this weekend regardless

Only use a microfibre cloth - tissue will scratch a plastic screen! Worst thing you could do IMO

I use glasses wipes from lidl - I think they call them W5 glasses wipes.
£1 for 50 of the things. No spears, no scratches, just a brand new looking screen after a clean
Definitely worth picking up some of your near one

That sounds ideal to add to my cleaning stuff. I'll check them out.

Pet hate of mine, bloody smeary, dirty, splodgy iDrive glass. It attacts mess so quickly!

I have some glasses cleaning wipes. Individually wrapped things. Work a treat and have a handful in the little pocket to the side of the s/wheel.

This is a top tip - I will get some of these. Not wearing glasses it never occurred to me.

My daughter thinks it's funny to put finger prints on the screen since it bugs me so much!

Just a micro fibre cloth but no cleaner. Gets rid of finger print smears etc just by wiping/buffing

Maybe you should follow the instructions in the car's manual (!) which, IIRC, says dry cloth only.

A dry cloth won't get it clean enough and there is far more chance of scratching in my opinion.
